Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.40 Discussion Thread
Hi guys, I just have a couple questions that I would like answered, I will definatly be buying the game but I need a few things cleared up.
1) i might sound a bit dull here but if I buy the beta would I have to re purchase the game when it comes out? Or does the beta license key and stuff let me continue playing the game but with the finished version?
2) when playing in the UK leagues are there real life player names or made up ones? (Just wanted to know as I could be on there
)
Really can't wait to buy this game been waiting for one of these for ages!

1) Yes, you can keep playing. The beta is actually cheaper than the finished version will be. So you'll be getting a discount if you purchase it now. Not sure about save game compatibility though. Someone else might know if you can keep playing the same game. One would think they're compatible, but you never know, if there are so many changes, that the old save will not work with the full game in the end.
2) Real players, yep.

Welcome to The Blue Line!
Any yes, you're in the game!
The attributes are still a work in progress, but you've got a pretty decent potential ability rating in the game.
I've probably seen you play this season a couple of times. Did you play against Invicta in Kent this past season? There have been some cracking games against Cardiff this past year (not to mention the insane playoff series).

Your beta key will work with the final version. The beta is basically a pre-order bonus.Callumbhockey wrote:1) i might sound a bit dull here but if I buy the beta would I have to re purchase the game when it comes out? The UK leagues have all of the correct names (I'm the UK Head Researcher). The EIHL, EPL and NIHL Division 1 (North & South) are all covered. I haven't gone as low as the NIHL Division 2 because I don't think there's enough room to cover the low attributes that would realistically be required (trying to cover the NHL right down to the NIHL is tough with just a 1 - 20 attribute scale!).Callumbhockey wrote:2) when playing in the UK leagues are there real life player names or made up ones? Haha! Great thanks!! It's going to be so wierd, normally my name is on the managers bar not the players haha! Can't believe it!! And yeah you probably have, I played both away games in invicta in the season (and got man of the match the one game ) then I played the home playoff leg but not the away one as I was in Coventry with the under 18s for the national finals!
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

That is because the game is in build 44, that's why the game is in v0.9.44.M Ace wrote:Just a fast question. at the start up menu; should it be build 40 or build 44....no matter how I try I get build 44...

I think the issue is just a typo in the write up JeffR did...I've noted this on the OOTP/FHM siteM Ace wrote:Just a fast question. at the start up menu; should it be build 40 or build 44....no matter how I try I get build 44...

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.44 Discussion Thread
I bought/checked out FHM on the initial beta release day, and haven’t looked at it since!
To answer your question I did my first ever update…and "yes, it now shows Build 44 in my game"

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.44 Discussion Thread
It's just a typo in Jeff's announcement. As Joe says, it should say Build 44 (hence v0.9.44).

I haven't play FHM since build 12 or something and I must say that I'm impressed with the improvements and the UI is much better now.
Sure, it is too early to start a serious game on FHM, but it gets there.

I agree, we are seeing a lot of improvements now. What improvements to the UI have you seen? I haven't seen any improvement at all (maybe it's because I install and try out at least one sim with every build and so I don't notice any gradual UI improvements).joehelmer wrote:I haven't play FHM since build 12 or something and I must say that I'm impressed with the improvements and the UI is much better now.

The goddamn draft and the UFA coming quick I'm starting to gain interest in the game because I love playing that part of the year.
I don't see many users talking about crashes anymore, is the game stable now?

Much improved, but by no means crash-free.philou21 wrote:The goddamn draft and the UFA coming quick I'm starting to gain interest in the game because I love playing that part of the year.I don't see many users talking about crashes anymore, is the game stable now?

Good news! No games are crash-free anyway. I just wanted to know if it was getting better.

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.44 Discussion Thread
I think it somewhat looks cleaner and it's easier to navigate than it was when I tested the game last time. But I will wait until the game gets released until I start a "real" save.archibalduk wrote:I agree, we are seeing a lot of improvements now. What improvements to the UI have you seen? Are we going to be able to play several players on the same save, with different teams, like in EHM?
Because I would love to be able to play with my brother on the same laptop or being able to control my AHL affiliate.

In FHM, when you turn off the other teams except for the AHL and NHL, the players in juniors and Europe don't have their stats updated. Will they update after the end of the year?

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager Beta v0.9.44 Discussion Thread
Okay, so I have been trying to play the game for the last 2 hours, I completed 1 season, I'm on the 2nd August 2013 and after the game loads, which takes a good 5-10 minutes, which ever button I press to simulate the day or to the next week the game crashes, is there something I should do?

The best thing to do is to report this over at the official forums (see here: Crashes | OOTP Developments Forums).Callumbhockey wrote:Okay, so I have been trying to play the game for the last 2 hours, I completed 1 season, I'm on the 2nd August 2013 and after the game loads, which takes a good 5-10 minutes, which ever button I press to simulate the day or to the next week the game crashes, is there something I should do?

The devs will want a copy of your saved game. There are instructions on how to upload it here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/f ... ost3473194

I'm hoping the history can be fixed when winning a Stanley Cup ...I noticed it doesn't update each year a team wins the cup, just stays at L.A.'s win in 2012.
