As I've had a few new users message me as well all the details are in the 'Announcement' threads atop the Forum here. The basic description is in the "#1: Understanding And Gaining Entry To A Challenge" thread and I even added a copy of a message I'd sent to someone asking for more deatils about the basics of what a Challenge is.

After you chaeck that out the rest of the threads will guide you through setting up and playing a Challenge team.

You might want to look at some of the Challenge Chat threads to see what people said about their team while Challenges were going on to get a feel of what being in one is like; they're lots of fun.
