When you click on the Community Map button it should show a page with a map on which you add your location. Can you not see the map? If so, check to see that Java Script is enabled. If you have trouble adding yourself to the map, tell me your location and I can do it for you :)
Aha!!! Maybe thats the problem!!!

When I click on the Community Map button I only see this: GP GeoForum version 0.15.5. The full source code can be found at SourceForge

Can u tell me where I can see if I have enabled that Java Script??? Its on the Internet Options??

archibalduk wrote:Wow you live right next to the city centre where the city hall is 8-) I once visited Toulouse because I stayed for three weeks in Albi (it was a school exchange). Have you ever been to the castle in Carcassonne? It is absolutely amazing!
My mother lives in Carcassonne, and i go there every two weeks. Maybe because she lives at 5 minutes by foot from the castle :joy:

The most amazing thing about this castle is that it has never been taken. All assaults failed! Even when Carcassonne was the border of the kingdom, with many attempts of invasion from the Muslims in Spain.

And yes,i'm pretty close of Toulouse's town center. It's a bit noisy when our rugby team wins the championship or the european cup. (we win nearly a title a year, sometimes two...or at least a final... :joy: )

Flea:

For Firefox, click on Tools -> Options -> Content and make sure there is a tick next to "Enable Java" and "Enable Java Script":

For Internet Explorer, I'm not entirely sure. Maybe someone else can tell you. In the bar at the bottom of the Internet Explorer window, are there any red circles saying that something has been blocked/disabled? Try testing to see if you have Java installed here.

Shadd: I'm not suprised the castle has never been conquered; it's in such a perfect position high above the surrounding land (isn't it called Castle Fort??). I'd love to go back there. It's so much more fun to visit than other castles. 8-)

It's in perfect condition because it has been renovated during the 20th century. And then it was added and protected by UNESCO.

And yes,we call it a "château-fort",which we could translate by "strong castle" or something like that. It means that the castle itself is strongly defended by high walls and many other things (don't know the terms in english,so... :dunno: ).

The walls are something around 5-6 meters high and 1-to-3 meters thick, just to give everyone a better idea...

The space between the two walls belts was usually full of water, with just one bridge to cross it (out of the pic,on the left),and the bridge lead to the only door of the City (as this place was a little village, protected by the castle, and with a cathedral, that we see at the top of the pic).

If anyone wants to come and visit, you're all welcomed! 8-)

It'll most probably be to do with Java Script settings. If it's not working with IE then try using Firefox. If it's not working with Firefox then try reading this: Link

It is pretty crazy that so many are clustered in the north east US/south east Canada and western Europe :-?

Nice to see someone in a new part of the world. From what I hear Vancouver is a very nice place. 8-)

You need to ensure that you have Java Script installed and that your web browser is not blocking any of the content on this site.

For more info about enabling Java Script, read this post above. It seems the map works better in Firefox than IE.

I admit it's not as user friendly as it could be! Hopefully I can talk you through it. Click on the image below to view it full size:

Image

Firstly, choose the "Search" option.

Then choose either "Full Text Search" (to search for a country/city/town/village - I don't think it does roads) or "Postal Codes" (if searching for a postal code, only enter the first part of it e.g. HD1, HU10, CH60, etc.).

Having entered your search text, click on the "Search" button to the right of the textbox. Click on one of the links that comes up in the results.
