I'm going to try this new Beta Patch 1.2.10.
Hopefully there is a big improvement.

Re: FHM Beta Patch 1.2.10 Discussion
Supposedly..save game compatible. However...each and every time I go into my in-game mode and try to watch the game....no matter what I touch...the game crashes.
Ugh...so they give us a BETA of a patch...and it does not work. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.
Trying hard to be patient...but ....
ETA---NEVERMIND....3 downloads of the patch...got it to work. COmputer problem. not the game.

Re: FHM Beta Patch 1.2.10 Discussion
I cannot believe how frustrating it is over on their forums. Some people are simply just hanging around there to insult and nothing more. I just don't get it. Why are they still there? They just should get their measly 40 dollars back and piddle off!
The devs have pretty much abandoned the forum. I understand it but they need their PR guy working his magic and he's no where to be found.

I've always disliked the tone/language of the OOTP/FHM forums. I really don't get the lack of any moderator activity/effort by the company (they could learn a ton from TBL!)

This is what gets me. If you don't like the game, that's completely understandable; just accept it and move on to something else. If you want your money back, then ask for it - it's no secret that OOTP is willing to give refunds. Get your $40 back and move on. In fact, I avoided the forum for about the first month to give these people time to clear out. I mean, we all knew it was coming, so just stand back and let things calm down.dave1927p wrote:Some people are simply just hanging around there to insult and nothing more. I just don't get it. But here we are over a month later, and there's a handful of people who have stuck around. They seem to have been deeply offended by the state of FHM, and they now have a score to settle, so they're sticking around and making sure the world knows their anger. They're offering absolutely nothing to the community; they're just there to be a nuisance and get their revenge. Like you, I wish they would just get their money back and piddle off. The funny thing is, most of them probably can't get a refund at this point because they spent all their time whining, and now their 14-day refund period is long gone.

I find the most annoying posters to be those who constantly ask WHERE IS THE NEXT PATCH? WE SHOULD HAVE ONE BY NOW.

Re: FHM Beta Patch 1.2.10 Discussion
Yeah the official forums are not a fun place to visit. I get the impression that a few users have developed vendettas against OOTP. I know OOTP don't want to be seen to be censoring people, but I think some active moderating would go a long way to helping things (perhaps putting all of the complaints in a single dedicated thread).
I totally appreciate why people are annoyed by the state of the game come release date (or even now), but some people have gone way over the top. I don't enjoy the game in its current state, but I'm not angry about it. It's only a game and I just live in hope things will go in the right direction sooner or later.
There are some signs of improvement that interest me, but it's looking like the agenda for the next few patches will be things that don't interest me so much (online play, custom mode, editing options). Well, not that they don't interest me, it's just I'd personally rather see other things done first (but obviously that's not down to me). In a way, it'll be good to get things like custom leagues out of the way development-wise because hopefully that might free up time for work on version 2 for more elementary things such as a tidied up UI, scouting and realistic tactical options (assuming of course OOTP want to add things like that).
