Maybe put Vancouver Canucks as a hated team, and Pat Quinn or whoever GM is as hated. Then leave Pavel unsigned, and have fave team as Florida and their GM. No idea. but just a thought...to somehow get him to refuse to play in Vancouver and have the Nucks deal him.

Well now all NHL players are done. I'm soon gonna release my version of this DB. Still gonna edit a few prospects before release.

The first version will be playable but I woudn't recommend playing a serious season. But at least test it, and point out errors. :-)

There are a lot of "hidden" players ingame that has insane stats when only being 17yrs old. I think it's because they are 8 years younger in this DB but have their attributes of the peak of their career (~25yrs).

What do you guys think I should do. I have 3 NHL teams without any players (ATL, CLB, MIN). Should I just leave them empty, and let them sign "cr*p" players. Or shoul I create fictional ok players for them, or move some european or some AHL players to their teams? Then there's also I think 7 AHL teams that are empty (there were only 19 teams in 98 in the AHL). This DB is focused on NHL, so AHL isn't that important rigth now.

The reason why I wouldn't like to have 3 completely empty teams is that all other teams beat them 10-0 all the time. And that impacts alot on the scoring of players. Many mighty over 60 goals a season. 10-20 might come from those cr*p teams. :dunno:

You could check to see if there are 3 independent minor pro teams in 1998-99, and then use those rosters (edited to be poor to low average NHLers whose strength is defense).....or just create your own players/staff (poor to low average NHLers whose strength is defense)

jhcjobpb wrote:This DB is focused on NHL, so AHL isn't that important rigth now.
Given the injuries and player movement in EHM the players in the AHL (and overseas) can have a significant impact on NHL rosters

For minor pro teams you have 84 available from in-real-life 1998-99, with the AHL (19), IHL (16), ECHL (27), UHL (11) and CHL (11).
I suggest using the IRL players to populate as many EHM minor pro leagues as you can, and for the rest just set them to have no NHL affiliations.
Your AHL can be the in-real-life AHL + IHL teams, your ECHL can be the in-real life ECHL teams, and your CHL can be in-real-life CHL/IHL/UHL teams

For the 1974 database I did this, taking all available IRL minor pro teams from 1974 and populating the AHL and CHL (I left the remaining teams without affiliations and empty of players/staff)

That's my two cents :-)

Thanks for that! :-) Well I didn't mean I won't do anything to AHL and european players. I've already edited a few hundreds of them. But I meant players with CA 40 and CA 90. Those players won't impact the NHL directly. So my focus isn't on those players.

I decided to creat "new/fake" players for Columbus, Minnesota and Atlanta. The teams has no rosters at the beginning of the game. When simulating they get beaten 10-0 in most games. That also impacts the "star" players, as they might get ~140 points in a season, because ~40 points they get are from those cr*p teams.

I'll create 9 new players for each team; 1 GK, 3 D:s, 5 F:s. This way these teams might get a more reasonable "beating". :-)

After these 27 players are done I'll release the first version of this database.

Just a suggestion, maybe change the Avs' maroon to Phoenix "Red, it looks more like the Avs' original shade of maroon from the 90's.

Can't wait to play this though, great work.

I found out that ATL,CBL,MIN doesn't have staff, so I'll have to create those too before the release. :-) The first version will be out next week.

It's nowhere near ready, but I'm soon gonna release my first version of it, which is playable, but not "ready". I'm waiting right now on archibalduk to take a look at the database. It has errors that players that was drafted '98 are able to be signed by any team (not all of them but a few). :dunno: When that error is fixed I'll release the first version. :-)

If it takes long to fix it, I'll just have to release it with those errors.

That's not my fault. :-D Maybe (COL then ANA) used him in powerplay or something?! :-p I didn't make him anyway near a offensive defensman. :-D

Well I still have errors with a few players drafted in '98, they're able to be signed by any NHL team. I've messaged Archi a week ago about this, but he's probably very busy these days. So do you think I should release a "v0.9" of this database now even though there are those errors? The database is playable now, but still has a lot of things that needs fixing.
