Keenan Out Once Again: "Resigns" As Panther GM

Post by Minstrel »

Stop me if you've heard this one before: Mike Keenan has left another place of employment among questions about just how well he got along with the people he was supposed to be working with. If this eventually does go down as a 'termination' instead of a 'resignation' it will be the third time Keenan has been fired. And that is only including times he's been fired by Florida! :-p

Florida did a lot to talk down the Odd Couple nature of their paiting of GM Keenan and Head Coach Jacques Martin citing that they are really old friends who will come together for a common cause and that their seemingly oil and water personalities would merge just fine... those of us who have followed the exploits of Keenan throughout his career quickly rolled out eyes and gave an enthusiastic "Yeah. Right."

Rumors are now surfacing that Keenan wanted to fire his "buddy" Martin after Florida's terrible start last year but wasn't allowed to among other factors...

My question on the matter continues to be the same... how many more chances does this guy get? And why?!?!? :-?

This has been officially settled now and it clearly has come down that this was in no way a "resignation", but Keenan has at least learned one thing from his myriad experiences being fired, don't talk about things when there is still money legally owed. 8-) So Mike will await his next victim team to officially agree to pay him and then we'll surely find out what actually went down in Florida that led to his firing...
