Holy rubbish, that's taking Christmas jumpers to a new level! They're not the only team to do this; I know Coventry, Milton Keynes and Swindon are doing Christmas jerseys too. They all get auctioned off for charity and/or the teams' running costs.

My favourite has be Bristol Pitbulls' jerseys. The red is the goalie jersey and the green is the skater jersey!

Last month was a pretty bad month for the Flames. Most of our top players were out injured and we ended up running with a short bench. Although we got a couple of good results, we had quite a few losses too. Yesterday we played Basingstoke and lost 4-3 (we conceded the GWG with 20 seconds left to play). That was a big loss as we're battling with them for 2nd place. Although most of our players had recovered from injury, we played pretty badly (so many errant passes and poor defending). I think we're a bit out of sorts following our star player's departure and the recent injury crisis.

Rumour has it we're on the verge of signing Nicky Watt from Peterborough. This wouldn't be a bad signing all things considered. Rick Plant was arguably one of the best British players in the league and so it was always going to be hard to replace him. Watt won't quite be the sort of player Plant was, but he'll be a decent first/second line player. A little too aggressive though, IMO (95 PIM in 20 GP thus far this season). But it'll give us a little more physical presence.

The other rumour is that Shaun Thompson is to sign with us instead (apparently either Thompson or Watt is signing for Guildford and alternatively that Watt is heading for Basingstoke). Personally I'd prefer Thompson to sign. He's a nimble player, can score as well as assist, puts up the same sort of Pts totals as Watt but keeps out of the penalty box.

Hopefully a new signing will turn our fortunes around. However, I think it's going to take something special to regain second place. We're falling quite far behind. It has been a pretty exciting season thus far - any of the teams can win on any given day.

Just got back from the Steelers 5-4 overtime win vs Coventry we were losing 3-0 after about 7 minutes managed to get 2 back before the end of the 1st period. Rob Dowd scored the winner on the break away

That's a really good result and will hopefully help increase your chances of finishing ahead of the Panthers (I can't see anyone catching the Giants this season). How has Dowd been playing in your view? I had expected more of him, given how he performed in previous EIHL seasons and given his Allsvenskan experience. But perhaps the EIHL is now a much tougher league than a few years ago (IMO the quality seems to be continually improving).

Guildford lost 6-3 last night. Similar to the Steelers, we were down 0-3 after the opening 10 minutes. Peterborough were extremely good, especially their offence and their PP. You wouldn't believe they are bottom of the league right now. They have vastly improved following their recent coaching and player shake-up. Guildford, on the other hand, are really terrible at the moment. Our injury crisis is all but over (only one player still injured) but we're just not playing like earlier this season. In part this is because we lost our top-scorer (Rick Plant) last month. We're now too reliant on one or two players - if neither of them play well then the team doesn't either. Our recent signing of Nicky Watt has been positive but, as a I said before he signed, he's no replacement for Rick Plant. He's a good second line player with great physical presence, but we really need a big goalscorer. I hope the coach makes a move or two before the trade deadline at the end of this month.

I agree I don't think anyone will catch up to Belfast this year. I like Dowd alot a very quick player I think points are down because no one on this team could hit a cows ass with a banjo fair enough we have been scoring this season but as a team should be scoring more. His goal last night was great lost my voice celebrating after

Steelers beat Dundee 4-0 last night in the challenge cup quarter final first leg so we have a 4 goal lead going into the second leg can't see us losing against them they were abit poor last night I thought to say they are second in the league.

Yeah I saw that in the news recently. This is really good news for British hockey. From what I understand, Troja's season is all but over this year, so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on next season. He did a really great job with Coventry Blaze; hopefully he'll do the same with Troja.
