No specific details really, it's a development process so it will depend on when the project can get done and tested to the point where it is usable... all of these things can only start one the final databse is released which was yesterday.

However there are a few people working on editors this time around and Gambit, who is also working on an editor in addition to Neil (mne2), will be here on TBL to help answer editor questions at least. Hopefully we can all help him test his editor when it gets off it's feet.

I'm jumping several guns there though admittedly :-p I'll leave it up to him to get us up to date on his progress. He said he'll have the time to make an official greeting etc on sunday 8-)

Is that enough of a greeting? :)

Yes, I'm doing an editor
Yes, I'm going to need testers

Other than that I won't be releasing much info on the editor until I'm finished going through my existing code that loads 05s data and convert it over to 07.

Heh... works for me. Coders aren't usually the most talkative of the bunch anyhow :-D

Let us know how things go and how/when we can help out

When you get rolling we can set you up with an 'Official' thread, like a sticky post or something more and give you the Moderator clearance and TBL Riot Gear :minty: to help keep the unruly in line; which from seeing the chaos that editor talk creates on the SI Forums you'll probably need 8-)

I think he found a bug that could potentially miss up the NHL rights in the database, so he took the download down. But it looks as though it is a minor thing and will be fixed and up again today :)

Yes, the current author only allows it to be d/l from his own site though so we don't have it on our server.

Error With "Swapping Teams"?

Post by knutte »

Hey folks. I've swaped a couple of teams and now i can't start a new game  It occurs an "Fatal" it stands something in style with "Select leagues screen". What can this be?

Admin Note: Moved this to our Graphics & Game Add-On Forum.

Welcome to TBL knutte =D>

EHM tends to get very unstable with lots of editor changes especially to teams. You problem I would guess is that the number of teams per league are hard coded into the game, so if you've added teams the game will crash. Moving teams is risky but if you do it on a 1 for 1 basis you should be okay hopefully, but you have to keep overall team numbers the same. You may even have to keep the number of teams per division the same. You cannot rename divisions, create new divisions, etc. or it will crash. That much I know.

Someone more familiar with the editor can help you out more probably.

Editor for 2007?

Post by kabbott50 »

Is there an editor for 2007? I'm using St. John's, and I can't update their roster how I want because of the overage rule. Tim Spencer isn't an overager, according to the Devils website, but he is in the game. hus, I can't sign Max Chamberland to be my third real overager. Can anybody help me out here?

Adding teams to a League

Post by kabbott50 »

Is this possible to do? I tried it in the ECHL, but I couldn't get it to work properly. Any advice?

Off the top of my head, use the editor to swap two teams. As far as I'm aware, the leagues are coded so that they must have an exact number of teams in each league (e.g. 30 teams in the NHL). So if you want to add another team to a league/conference/division then you must remove a team from that league in order to maintain the correct number of teams in the league.

Editing EHM using an editor: Official thread

Post by Gary87 »

Could somebody please tell me what I have to do, from start to finish, to create a player who will actually show up in the game? The only times I can ever do it, is if I take a player already in the game, and change his name to mine.

Be more descriptive with your thread title and you will be more likely to get people looking at your thread and answering. I've changed your thread title this time. Please make sure you have read the Forum Rules.

You need to make sure all the fields are set, they need a name, staff type needs to be set as player on both the type and job fields (I haven't got the editor here but you definitely need to have player set on two different places).

Remember that the game does not load every player, so if you have created a player with low current ability/reputation they may well not appear on smaller database settings. I think players younger than 14 do not appear either.

I would guess the database size is the main thing stopping players from appearing, have you tried setting that to full?
