FHM, playable yet?
Is FHM at all playable yet? Is it still in a beta phase?
Is it worth purchasing, or better to stay with EHM for actual playing purposes?

IMHO at this point you'll be better off with EHM. If I were you I would at least wait for FHM 2015, frankly. Let's see if someone can convince us otherways

Re: FHM, playable yet?
Yes; it's always been playable. Enjoyable, however, is a different story.
Personally, I haven't seen any increase at all in positive discussion of FHM, so my guess is that it's pretty much what it's always been.

What exactly has it "Always been" I've really just read some of the stories, awhile back, about it.

If you read some stories awhile back, and you're told it's the same as it's "always been" - wouldn't that mean it's the same as it was when you were reading some of the stories?StealthB2X wrote:What exactly has it "Always been" I've really just read some of the stories, awhile back, about it.

Well, I'm sure there have been changes, and I read stories back around the time the game came out, and I only read alittle, I was hoping for more of an indepth explanation on what the game is like now, or a redirect to a thread I can get that info.nino33 wrote:If you read some stories awhile back, and you're told it's the same as it's "always been" - wouldn't that mean it's the same as it was when you were reading some of the stories?StealthB2X wrote:What exactly has it "Always been" I've really just read some of the stories, awhile back, about it.

Re: FHM, playable yet?
I think the "problem" might be few if any TBLers are actually playing FHM (I don't know of any that do)
For me FHM is still not worth the investment of my time, and while I'm still hopeful I'm looking to next year or maybe even the year after that
The FHM Boards might give you some insight http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/f ... scussions/
The Developers Update Thread will give you an idea of what's been worked on over the months http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/f ... hread.html

Re: FHM, playable yet?
There have been some improvements (e.g. team practice) but it is fair to say that the game largely looks and plays the same as it did last September. Unfortunately the game continues to suffer from bugs, missing features and a poor UI. Progress has been really slow (mostly due to the fact that Sebastian has to split his time with developing iOOTP).StealthB2X wrote:Well, I'm sure there have been changes, and I read stories back around the time the game came out, and I only read alittle, I was hoping for more of an indepth explanation on what the game is like now, or a redirect to a thread I can get that info.
The game is heading in the right direction, but incredibly and painfully slowly. Hence you'll find that our FHM Forum and OOTP's FHM Forum are both very quiet with most posts complaining about bugs/progress or asking about custom mode.

This is unfortunately where I'm at. I have a total of maybe four or five hours into FHM, and that's about it.nino33 wrote:I think the "problem" might be few if any TBLers are actually playing FHM (I don't know of any that do)

Re: FHM, playable yet?
FHM is the worst PC game I ever bought.
(it had potential... but doesn't seem to go anywhere
EHM with all new DB's + add-ons wins FHM like Canada wins Uganda in hockey.

What a disappointment. I was really hoping FHM could be a better version of EHM, instead this... sigh. And the wait for the ultimate hockey management game continues...jhcjobpb wrote:FHM is the worst PC game I ever bought.(it had potential... but doesn't seem to go anywhere

Re: FHM, playable yet?
I'm one of the people who's most concerned about the customization features, as I would sincerely love to have an OOTP-like hockey game. So I was really hopeful that FHM would at least be a good start. The repeated reports of bugs still concerns me, and I've written off this version. I have no choice but to hope for FHM 2015 being a bigger step in the right direction.

Re: FHM, playable yet?
There's no reason FHM can't still be better than EHM. Don't forget that this is only the first version, and from a company that's never worked with hockey before; expecting anything significant from it at this point - especially expecting it to be better than EHM - is crazy.delaiah wrote:I was really hoping FHM could be a better version of EHM, instead this... sigh.

Re: FHM, playable yet?
I've only played like one and a half season, but if you get it cheap, it's worth a try. Goes without saying it has it's flaws, but I don't think it's a complete disaster either.

Re: FHM, playable yet?
Kopi - FHM 2015 is coming.
I think the user interface holds it back a great deal. Thankfully the UI is being improved for FHM 2015 and I think it will make the game a lot more fun (I tried an early draft of the new menu UI a couple of months ago and it was extremely good).
There is still a long way to go, but I think it will get there in the end. The only thing that really holds it back is when Sebastian is pulled from FHM to work on iOOTP. That frustrates the heck out of me.](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)
