Turning off 2d view?
Is there any way of turning off the 2d action in the game? It might seem a strange request, but i've always preferred the commentary. As my pc is quick, i have to turn the action speed to slow to be able to read it. However, this means it takes an age between face-offs and a game lasts forever. Any suggestions?

Yeah, thats how i use it, view the box score and watch the commentary at the bottom of the page....its stops me shouting at the players when they watch the puck go right past them haha.
Its not a major issue, i can live with it. I'm trying not to get too into the game yet as i know i'll start a new one when the updates get released anyway.

I had this issue with the fast commentary too, until I realized that's what the 2D is here for. D fan#1, you see, if you know the players on your team really well, such as knowing what # is who (which I'm sure you do) you should follow the game on the 2D game view, instead of trying to know what's going on by looking at the commentary. Since watching the 2d is almost like watching the real game itself! But maybe u really love the commentary...who am I to tell how you should enjoy your EHM07?

p.s. I think you cant really tell when a player gives or receives a big hit but that's about the only thing I dont like about the 2D with fast commentary.

The 2D engine shows a lot of promise, but it doesn't really look 100% like hockey yet. Far too many goals scored on breakaways, but your standard 2-on-1 doesn't exist. Not to mention the aggravation factor: defensemen apparently wondering whether to take the man or the puck and in the end going for neither, puckcarriers being called for charging or slashing when there's not a soul nearby, and goalies taking ages to pass the puck or being content at doing nothing while the puck lies about two feet from the crease and the other team's winger is darting in from the blue line.
Of course, this is an unpatched first iteration of a 2D engine, it isn't bad at all. It's just that the old text-only representation could easily hide game engine weaknesses and quirks were easy to ignore, whereas a visual representation makes the flaws jump out at you (which I believe is a good thing if you think about the future).
