Maybe...but in what world is Bieksa the captain of Canada's third best team? In what world is he even in the top 18 Canadian Defensemen?

Re: The IIHF World Championships 2014
CAnadian D better than Bieksa--no particular order, just off top of head.
1. Weber
2 Keith
3 Doughty
4 Hamhuis
5 Subban
6 Giordano
7. Pietrangelo
8 Bouwmeester
9 Seabrook
10 Marc Staal
11 Letang
12 Phaneuf
13 Boyle
14 Beauchemin
15 Alzner
16 Green
17 Hamoncic
18 Vlasic
19 Philou
20 Cee Bee
I would include myself on that 30 second list....but I am a forward.
That took me 30 seconds, without even thinking named 18.
Oh and Malkin...4th liner on Canada top team, Ovenchicken does not even make the team. Canada's top team has 14 centres.

I agree with numbers 15 and 16.
Completely unbiased opinion.
I wouldn't agree with your estimation on Malkin's and Ovechkin's value, but meh... More beer.

Ewwww playing defense! No thanks! And yeah...Ovy sucks Tasku. Wouldn't want that guy in my team unless he change his attitude. I laughed a little when he raised the World Cup with that big smile....yeah, only trophy you'll get in your career.

Skill-wise he sucks not. Just attitude needs some adjusting.
There's nothing to laugh about winning the World Championship. It might not mean much in Canada, but in some European countries it's a big deal.

I'm laughing more at his attitude because of the pathetic year he had. No NHL playoffs, no Olympics medals at all. I know the guy wasn't alone in all this but if he really wanted he could do more. So that's now the only award he can get. A tournament were almost nobody was there. That's the only thing he can win so far.

Well, while on one hand you're right, you shouldn't really take the WC that easy. For European players representing their country is a matter of honor and Ovechkin did an excellent job on it. Tretyak said "many players of his level now are in Miami on vacations, yet he prefers being here even fighting with injuries". He's right and this also speaks a lot about his attitude.philou21 wrote:I'm laughing more at his attitude because of the pathetic year he had. No NHL playoffs, no Olympics medals at all. Yeah, I think people are a bit hard on him. He's not that bad. He wasn't that bad when he came to the Caps. He just seems to have slipped a little. I think he can get back up there, if he gets his spark back... Or something.

Too bad he can't bring that here. Maybe the KHL is a better option for him then.Alessandro wrote:Well, while on one hand you're right, you shouldn't really take the WC that easy. @Tasku, that's exactly what I think and maybe the change of coach/GM will help him.....I hope.

He's got the attitude he's bigger than the game itself. In an interview they asked why had such a bad +/- this year. He just said he's paid to score goals not defend basically.
This is getting a bit "out pf topic".
