Looking good Arch...reasoning is sound on paper I think. We'll only know for sure when it comes to play-testing the mod mind...

Seeing as I got the NA rosters imported quicker than anticipated, I've been spending some time getting the UK players' career histories imported (and at the same time I have increased the number of teams and leagues that the EHM Updater auto-corrects). I have now imported all of them (see screenshot below) - so that's around 8,000 entries. As a part of this work, I have added many defunct British teams to the DB so that they appear in players' career histories.

Incidentally, I noticed that EHM seems to be very fussy about how defunct teams are set up otherwise they'll appear as "unknown team" in the players' histories. It seems the defunct teams must have their status set to "Invalid" otherwise they'll appear as "unknown team". It also seems that the team's Last Division setting cannot be left blank - and indeed it might even have to match the league listed in the player's history (but I'm not 100% sure on that as it seems to be variable). Additionally, it seems that defunct teams from other leagues not Selected/Enhanced always appear as "unknown team".

Another thing I've been working on is setting British as the declared nationality of imports that played for Team GB between 1993/94 and 1999/2000.

Before I send the DB back to Nino tomorrow, I'm going to check all of the standing/seating capacities of the playable teams, ensure the arena moves are set correctly and check the rosters of the "expansion teams" (i.e. those additional teams we put in the ISL/BNL to fill the spaces).

If it's going to help us get the ratings in the right ballpark then yes please feel free. If not, I'm sure we'll figure out the ratings anyhow. :-)

I promised I'd email a copy of the DB to you. I'll try and do this tomorrow (along with the modified exe with the unrestricted import rule). I got a lot more done following my previous post. I've given the ISL and SNL goalies provisional CAs and PAs, provisional Aggression ratings for all players, and I've set the Strength and Pass Tendency attributes. Now I'm working on getting the players in some semblance of line order so that I can get started on the CA ratings for skaters.

Put together a thread for research on the boards here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 18#p172618

Going to have a look for some other IH Forums. the MK one is a closed shop apparently, which is a shame!

Hi arch, Sorry I've not been about. I have FINALLY been accepted to the MKIce Forums so will try and generate some interest there!

Don't imagine you've had much progress with the mod lately?

Also if you need any help regarding the Lightning for a 2014/15 update then let me know, there have been some changes to Lightning/Thunder/Storm this season: they will be much more joined-up under a 'MK Ice Hockey Academy' system.

Heh that took some time! :-D

No, I haven't made any progress on the UK rosters for the 1998 DB (although there has been a lot of work done on the North American and Finnish leagues). I can't believe it has been 3-4 months since I last worked on it. I'm going to pick it back up once the 14/15 rosters have been released (the summer is always dedicated to modern DB editing!).

Thanks for the offer regarding the MK roster. I'll give you a shout if I need anything.

It did. Took forever. There's a bit of an 'old-school' hockey crowd on the forum, so hopefully they can at least help us flesh out some of the more memorable players. Theres a few Peterborough fans as well (gluttons for abuse they are) so might have some interest from them as well.

I'm really excited for the new season, especially the new cup layout (though god-knows how you'll replicate that on the modern db), and the Champion's League...

As for Lightning I'm hoping to get to a few games early-doors. I think we start at your place actually, and I'll definitly be heading for Bracknell when we play them this month as it's not too far away. Will PM you some thoughts about our new signings.

Also it's looking like we'll be starting our 'home' games in Coventry again, with the new rink set to open in October.
