Are you using the CSD Patch?

If so, trying starting a new game without the Patch and see whether the crash occurs.

Are you using v1.5 of the CSD Patch? And a 2013 start date?

Yes, using v1.5 of the Patch. Just noticed that today after creating my savegame, i updated windows to version 8.1. Now I game crashes even when creating new game using CSD patch. Patch now don't recognize my EHM version.

Creating game without patch worked fine, now I'll try Challenge with 2006 rosters.

Hmm that's very interesting... :-k

The 2006 start date is probably the safest course of action. Alternatively this might work: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 36#p138236

I haven't been able to get my new laptop to run EHM in Windowed mode either. I've just learned to live with it in Standard Mode. :dunno:

I also run into issues with windowed mode on my laptop (Dell Latitude). I have a feeling the issue is related to the on-board graphics driver. I just follow bruins72's lead and deal with it in standard, not a big deal.

I *think* it might be because you're resolution is too small for windowed mode (it needs more than 768px tall IIRC). Alternatively it might be because the CSD Patch also uses the "small_screen" switch.

Cool!!!

I got a new Win8.1 machine about a year or more ago.

Generally assumed EHM07 wouldn't work on it, never bothered to try.

Tried just a few days ago and all is well.

Back to some hockey!!

I have Win 8.
I downloaded the EHM 2007 demo.
When I try to run it I get the error message - The application was unable to start correctly (0xC0000142).

I've tried to run it in compatibility mode and run as administrator, stopped my firewall and Windows Defender antivirus and I get the same error.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks.

Just confirming your monitor is big enough to run the game? I had this problem when I tried running it on a smaller work laptop before

Are you using version 3.0.4 of the game? http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=82
