EHM 2007 Issues (CD-ROM Version)

Post by JRFuerst »

I have the CD for 2007 and just got a new computer. I installed the game, and downloaded the final patch on 2007. Here are the three issues I am running into:

1. When I create a new game with the patch, I get a message that says: Fatal v3.0.4 select_leagues_screen.cpp85. That message was not coming up prior to the patch.

2. When I try to save the salary cap wage change on the transfer_rules_confif.cfg file I get an message that says I don't have permission to save in this location and to contact the administrator to obtain permission. However, I am the only user on this computer.

3. When I upload a saved game file to the saved game editor to click on "Tools - Edit Wage Cap", edit wage cap is not darkened to click on it. So I am unable to use the saved game editor for the intent that it is used for.

Does anyone have any fix solutions for these?

Thanks.

1. All I can suggest is trying to uninstall and reinstall the game. Also make sure to first test the game using the default rosters rather than installing any roster update. Once it is up and running then try a rosster update. Note that the CD ROM version of the game is not compatible with the Start Date Patch and so you'll need to use the 2006 Adjusted version of the rosters.

2. You need to copy the cfg file to your desktop, edit it and then move it back to the original folder. More details here: http://www.wikihow.com/Add-an-%22Open-W ... dows-Vista

3. I'm afraid I can't say as I've never used the saved game editor. I don't know if it helps, but I think only certain leagues can have wage caps.

Thanks for the help. I'll give this a try. I did some research on here and found for my third issue that I had to uncheck the save compressed in preferences. Once I did that I could edit the wage caps. I'll try the other things you mentioned and see how that works. Thanks again for your help, sir!

Edit: Your suggestion for no. 2 worked! Thanks again!

So now the game will not start when I double click on it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, and the game just will not go. Something wrong with the disc, or the disc drive maybe?

Have you ticked the Run as Admin option?

Might need to do that again if you've reinstalled it.

That did it, however now when I reinstall and download the 3.0.4 patch for the CDRom, I get an error message on start that says:

Fatal: v3.0.4 select_leagues_screen.cpp 85

Also, when I try to load a saved game I get:

v3.0.4 league.cpp 7740 and
v3.0.4 league.cpp 7024

And then the game crashes.

So I am wondering - does the patch not work with the CD-Rom, and if it does, does the game not work on Windows 7?

As Archi noted above "the CD ROM version of the game is not compatible with the Start Date Patch and so you'll need to use the 2006 Adjusted version of the rosters"

I'm not using a start date patch, I'm using the 3.0.4 official patch. Is that the same thing?

Well, I uninstalled the game to get rid of the patch, and reinstalled the game with just the CD-Rom, sans 3.0.4 patch and now these are the error messages I am getting:

When trying to open a saved game:
v3.2.1 human_manager_manager.cpp 228
v.3.2.1 league.cpp 7740
v.3.2.1 league.cpp 7024

When trying to create a new game:
v.3.2.1 mini_cup.cpp 99
v3.2.1 league.cpp 7740

I finally got it to work! I had some leftover EHM files that I was missing and not deleting. Finally did a search on my computer and deleted everything, reinstalled and I am good to go. Sheesh, I wish I was more computer saavy - could have been playing this game all along.

This might be caused by trying to load a saved game created in v3.0.4 with an earlier version of the game.

Glad you got it sorted in the end! :-)
