So, my last two game saves have corrupted, prompting the standard 'The game file is corrupted' yada yada followed by an error message 'V3.0.4 startsup_screen.cpp 511'
Any idea what causes this? It's seemingly consistent as 2 of 3 of my game saves have corrupted, in the last month.

Re: Game saves corrupting?
Are you using the "Save Compressed" option? I suggest always disabling this as there is a general view that this increases the risk of corruption.

Yeah, it was enabled, of course I checked here AFTER I started another game, which corrupted, anything else that would cause this, before I start another game?

Can't recall if it was the save safely option or what it was called where the game creates multiple autosaves. It helps to have multiple savefiles, so that you don't lose your whole game incase a save corrupts.

Re: Game saves corrupting?
The Rolling Saves option is the one that creates three autosaves/backups. The Save Safely option, I believe, reduces the chances of corruption by saving to a temporary copy of the save game rather than overwriting the saved game itself.
In order to keep things as safe as possible, my settings are as follows:
- Compressed Games: No
- Save Safely: Yes
- Rolling Saves: Yes (but if you don't have enough hard drive space for three extra copies of your saved game, just disable this)
