Player Potential in FHM

Post by Tasku »

Just going thru my first FHM draft, and I'm wondering what the letters in the potential number mean?

Like Kasperi Kapanen ability 5.0 potential 8.5 d.

Then next to him we have Ivan Barbashev ability 5.0 potential 8.0 a.

D? A? Is that something I should pay attention to? What does it mean? Is 8.0 a better than 8.5 d?

If I remember rightly, the letter indicates how well the player has been scouted. There's a range from A to E: 'A' means the player has been scouted as far as possible and 'E' means no scouting at all. The better/higher the scouting rating, the more reliable the potential rating is.

To improve the scouting rating, you need to assign scouts to that player. Also, the scouting rating declines over time and so you have to regularly refresh the scouting.
