Well done Gabe, if given the opportunity you should always hit a finn in the face

There's a reason why Gabe only was "man enough" and threw a punch from the bench. I think it starts with P and ends with Y!?Peter_Doherty wrote:Haha, Koivu is soft, he wouldn't stand a chance against Gabe

Don't worry, he got his hands full with Shea Weber last week and did pretty well, so I don't think he would've been scared to fight him on the ice.

So 2 days after the Bruins trade for Connolly, he takes a shot to his hand during practice, breaks his hand or some fingers, and he's out 6 weeks.

Kadri got benched by the Leafs coach because he missed a team meeting.

Kadri benched for missing a team meeting? Shocked that in Toronto they are not benching the guys who show up for team meeting,.

Seems like we will witness 3vs3 OT in a near futur. What do you guys think about that? I really don't know what to think of it.

I'm not sure. I guess if it will reduce the odds of a game being decided via shootout, then it's a positive development. Hard to say how it'll turn out though.philou21 wrote:Seems like we will witness 3vs3 OT in a near futur. What do you guys think about that? I really don't know what to think of it.

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
Agreed withthe shootout but I dunno...feels like they want to make the game more exciting but it's not in OT that we need excitement! This year the best scorer has it not even going to get past 90 pts, that's ridiculous.

Yeah, won't be many players with over 1 PPG this year.philou21 wrote:This year the best scorer has it not even going to get past 90 pts, that's ridiculous.

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
Yeah but....that's not "normal". It is stats wise, because the teams are playing well defensively and some goalies got easy shots to stop but my point is, hockey is supposed to be offensive (well for me) and how things turned out is just....well, boring. Even though everyone is freaking out about how good the Habs are this season, I haven't watched much games that I said it was a really good one to watch. Price is making spectacular saves yes but on offense, god it sucks. There's some great plays for the eyes here and then but most of it is ok at best. Hockey is now about defense and it sucks. Their blatant efforts at putting a "good show" with 3vs3 OT is not going to change something.

Modern hockey is like this, I frankly prefer a 2-1 game, those 7-5 are terrible. 3v3OT is laughable

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
Two teams may score under 2 goals per game this season on average. Not cool. Way more of a concern with this than with the overtime/shootout issue.
7-5 games are not to my liking necessarily either. Not concerned about what the score is really, concerned more about the fact that ALOT of the clutch and grab and stuff is being let go by officials again ...which is leading to much more slogging down of the game. Goals on the rush are hard to come by, because of clutch/grab...etc.
We are not quite back to the pre lock out days....but we are moving in that direction.
Power Plays are down...for most of the league. Lots of games where teams get 1PP per game. Funnily enough...that one PP per game is hardly ever REALLY a penalty. Some ticky tack bad luck high stick that glances off a visor.
Anyway. my two cents....
3 on 3 hockey is exciting....IF...AND ONLY IF....the coaches MUST play 2 forwards.
Mistakes are what makes the game exciting. Well...not mistakes but ad libs, that do not work out for players. But...my guess is it will not take long for coaches to start over-coaching 3 on 3 hockey, and they will put out two or three darn defensemen who are told to stay at home and keep dumping the puck out to play for the shootout lottery.
Bottom line is...game needs more scoring chances, less clutch and grab. Again not as desperately as before, but still creeping towards the dead puck era.
Plus don't you think with faster skaters and less room there would be more penalties? How come there seem to be much fewer again?

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
I did not said I would prefer a 7-5 games score though. Just having a good show. A game could finish 2-1 and have great plays, dekes, passes with an outstanding performance from the goalie. So 2-1 or 7-5, if the game is enjoyable, who really cares?!Alessandro wrote:Modern hockey is like this, I frankly prefer a 2-1 game, those 7-5 are terrible. 3v3OT is laughable

So the Leafs sign Nikita Soshnikov, quite a surprise. Here is my profile of his: http://thehockeywriters.com/who-is-nikita-soshnikov/
