Sharks got hosed, the Invisible Man isn't worth near that much.

Wow... what I really don't understand is the Devils are in no position to haggle as they are thoroughly over the barrel with the clock ticking due to their massive Cap issue woes and yet they make a trade taking on two players and sending out only one... so this is kind of cutting off one of your fingers so you can stuff it up your nose and stop a nosebleed. You're still bleeding

I don' t agree with you Minty.
In my Opinion Lamouriello did a wonderful again.
the priority for the devils was to get rid of salary and don't lose any useable players. (brylin, madden etc.)
They get rid of a player that doesn't play and 3,6 mio salary. first round pick hurts put when you see, the devils pick will be between number 25-30 it's not that much. also the devils scouting is excellent, so i'm sure they pull a secret weapon out of their pack with a later pick.
the two players the devils get, won't make the roster.
korolyuk will play in russia this year (transfer period is over) and fahey gets 500.000$ if he play in the nhl. put that won't happen.
so the conclusion is: 3,1 mio salary space ( if fahey plays in the nhl) for a first round pick.
the sharks eat malakhov's salary and have no salary room anymore for bigger trades.
the devils now can "officialy" sign Gionta, Martin, Hale and Clemmensen, cause Mogilnys 3,5 mio. will also be deleted.(long-term injury) if not the bruins will have the same problem with Zhamnov.......

No doubt. He made a bad move signing those guys to those kind of deals (were they made before the cap? I can't remember). But LouLam showed some serious smarts in getting himself out of that hole.Forsberg wrote:But the whole M&M thing will always stand, as a reminder even the best gms make bad deals.bruins72 wrote:Devils88 nailed it. Lou Lamouriello is a very smart GM. He just trimmed him salary.
