So i think i might drop out of this one, not having the draft picks we are suppose to have kind of killed it for me, im keeping the save though so i might jump back in later if i feel motivated :P

I don't really like the staff either but nobody good is available anymore so I guess I'll stick with one assistant coach exchange for now. We'll see how it goes later.

Well i finaly have now an oportunity to play your Challenges and im sure i will once i get to know how all this work. Still need to figure it out the tactic as so far I only played EHM 05 plus all the rules you have... so i guess Challenge #37 will be more suitable for me :-D

Try it out. This challenge is my first and it's also my first save with EHM:EA. Go for it, there is nothing to lose :)

Also, you are unlikely to be the last. At least with my current Flyers' performance ;)

So I woke up this morning (after being laid-off yesterday) and was thinking :-k . Then I was like, I wonder what's happening with TBL :-? . Then I saw EHM:EA and was like :joy: + crapped my pants. Then I bought it, d/l'ed it and now I'm like :notworthy: and am now slowly realizing there is now an alternative ruleset :help:

My first challenge!

Any early recommendations? Other than everyone apparently completely revamping their staff?

No transactions 1st season amongst players. That's the important rule for right now.

Ok happy days... also the twitter feed is amazing.

Welcome!

Be aware that you can't completely revamp your staff. You can release max. two assistant coaches and four scouts.

Thanks and good luck :)

Phuuh... Finally it's over.

The start of this new version of EHM was a disaster. My old tactics weren't working at all, I was hitting my head to the stonewall. At the start my main mission was to get the defence to work at least on a decent level, it turned out to be an impossible mission (for me). After 25 games I gave up with the defence and put all the effort to the offence. And it actually worked pretty well, at least we were scoring a lot. I guess that with a credible PK, we would have had a chance to compete for a playoff spot, so during the summer I need to strenghten that area. Overall it was nice to play EHM after a long break, especially this challenge thing hooked me up pretty well, so I think I will be playing them also in a future. :-)

This was the squad that made the best results:

Simmonds - Lecavalier - Voracek
Raffl - Giroux - Read
Umberger - Couturier - Gordon
Vande Velde - Schenn - Rinaldo

Colaiacovo - Streit
Grossmann - Del Zotto
Schultz - Schenn

Mason - Emery

Ps. Hopefully you were able to understand my english :-)

Yeah, let's do it :) I don't have any winning ambitions seeing how "well" I do with the Flyers. You should be easily better than me :) Anyways it's for fun, I don't play it to beat you all but to enjoy something new.

After i resumed the challenge i have been going more or less .500 which is far better then earlier... Giroux finally woke up aswell, has 9 points in the last 3 games :) I also claimed Kyle Brodziak off waivers.

Edit; Just extended Del Zotto for 4 more years, cap hit landed at $3.25... He only wanted 2 years so i pumped up the money for 2 more years, something that seldom worked in EHM07 :P

Just finished the season, ended up 11th in the conference after an OK second half of the season. Goaltending has been horrendous (seems like a pattern in new EHM apart from Lundqvist, Price and Rask more or less :P) and D wasn't great, 4th line also sucked but that was expected. Voracek was a beast all season and ended up at 88 points with Giroux on 78, Raffl played with them all season and ended up with 37 goals which he was best in the team with :) (Simmonds at 36) Vinny isn't dead and did an OK season and the others performed as expected more or less... Del Zotto was a little bit of a nice surprise, he did well and earned a new 4 year deal :) My AHL affiliate is doing great and looks to be winning their conference with Akeson leading the team in goals and points, he will probably be my HG next season (unless there is an age restriction for that? will re-read the rules in the off-season :P). Laughton and Gostisberhere is also doing really well down there of my prospects... Special teams weren't great, among the worst 10 teams in both...

The disappointments (Well, in some cases i figured they would suck but maybe not this much) were MacDonald, Gudas (barely 6 Av R), Luke Schenn and Mason.

Just went through the draft (I miss my picks :() and to my surprise Mikko Rantanen was available when my #50 pick was up, so that was my pick there, in the 4th round i picked up skilled Ukr/Swe winger Dmitri Tymashov and Swe LD Gabriel Carlsson, hopefully atleast one of the develop nicely :)

What the Dickens, Rantanen #50? :-? :-? :-?
In EHM2007 he rarely lasted till #20.
And Timashov should be a steal - his numbers in QMJHL are looking really good.

Those missing picks (two first round a two third round in best draft class in years..) are the only thing, which is holding me off deep-diving into this challenge yet. This makes the challenge really difficult.
Hopefully, I will make some progress today.
I am just two games into regular season (2-0-0) so far.
C. Price already went down for 4 months in MTL. :-o

Looking at your stats now - just a question about Lecavalier. I guess, that you have played him in PP or/and second line, right?
His 65 points look like he is almost worth the money of his contract :-D
