Did you guys hear about Jarret Stoll? Got busted at one of the big Las Vegas pool parties because he had coke and molly on him... even though there were signs posted saying everyone would be patted down before entering.

I just read an update on RDS and I guess it's what Batdad is talking about. It's....so confusing.

Rape investigation from a complaint in summer against him. Rape investigation to Grand Jury. Grand Jury delayed. Kane goes to camp and gets asked all kinds of questions, Probably should not be at camp (at least according to many who see this as comparable to Voynov and some NFL issues and NBA issues), Kane cheered loudly in Chicago. Buffalo DA (Where incident is alleged to have occured) not commenting at all. Yesterday comes out that no KAne DNA was found below the waist, but was some under the alleged victim's fingernails, and apparently near her shoulder. Was another man DNA found below the waist however (No big deal with that last part...really not of concern)

When a lawyer who is a friend of KAne's accuser (alleged victim) has a press conference--which....was wow! He holds up an evidence bag, that is empty. Says this is the rape kit bag. SAys has investigated thoroughly the rape kit...which why is it outside of law enforcement custody? NOt clear on why...but this empty bag showed up at the alleged victim's mother's front door. WHAT????? HOW DID IT GET THERE?

Says his firm and he investigated and have proven beyond all belief that this empty bag is the bag the evidence for rape kit was in. Yet...it is empty. No rape kit.

Clear insinuation of tampering on someone's behalf.

Kane lawyer-then does not say that this is NOT the rape kit ....he says that the rape kit has been tested and gives the no DNA below the waist line on the alleged victim.....


Buffalo DA spokesperson says....finally...that no we have the rape kit, in its bag, with all proper and total chain of custody attached, and it is sealed with everything in it....in proper custody.


WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH THIS? Something is odd on one or likely both sides of this.


And then BIll DAly comes out and says....this changes nothing...KAne is still okay to be at camp with HAwks.


Really---I would think that the Hawks like the Kings and like NBA and NFL teams (Vikings with running back dude especially) would suspend with pay.

Just to keep potential negativity and issues at bay.


But no....Kane is at camp being cheered by Hawks faithful.

Sure girl could be making stuff up, do not care...Kane should be sitting at home watching pending investigation.

I agree with that mate, but...if Kane is actually innocent (of anything criminal, clearly his lifestyle has gothim into trouble here) then why should he sit out his job. Innocent until proven guilty and all that?

Horrible situation and it will have an effect on the team's pre-season build so one way or another Kane should be sitting out, however maybe it isn't the GM/Head Coach's choice, perhaps legally they can't actually stop him being there if he hasn't been convicted of an offence?

The NHL can't suspend Kane without pay until charges have been laid. It was the NHL who suspended Voynov after charges were filed for assaulting his wife. However, even without criminal charges, the team does have the ability to suspend Kane. Article 2(e) of Kane’s Standard Player's Contract that states a player agrees “to conduct on and off the rink according to the highest standards of honesty, morality, fair play, and sportsmanship, and to refrain from conduct detrimental to the best interest of the Club, the League or professional hockey generally.” However, if there aren't criminal charges (and even if there are in the case of Mike Richards) the NHLPA will most likely grieve his suspension.

Even less formally than that, the Blackhawks can ask Kane not to show up at camp. They keep paying him but he stays away from the team.

In my opinion the team should invoke article 2(e) of his contract and suspend him. At very least I think they should ask him to stay home. I also don't think, given what we learnt yesterday, that the rape allegations are going away anytime soon.

NOt saying he is guilty. SAying it is not good for NHL to have him on the roster right now. HE may very well be innocent, and I hope to god he is. However, it is about perception....of the league and not of Kane or the Hawks. I mean remember the suspension for words? Sean Avery? Sloppy Seconds? That was leadership. This is not. This is bad.

Never said suspend without pay, can suspend with pay. And likely should.


But...for some reason the league and Hawks do not feel this way, which leads me to believe they must know (God I hope they do) something we do not.

So another nice turnover. The lawyer of the victim has decided to left! He mentionned that he now feels uneasy to represent the case after the way her mother brought up how she found the rape kit. He also mentionned that he does not believe the story that he's been told about the discovery of that bag.

Lawyer victim left---needed to save face as this evidence bag thing....oh my lord. It just came out in the DA press conference that the bag was with the alleged mom victim from DAY 1. The alleged victim was given the bag in the hospital to put the shirt she was wearing in it. She had changed her shirt before going to hospital for rape kit exam. The shirt was at her mother's house apparently. When police then went to collect shirt, used a different evidence bag and left this shirt with the mom.

DA calls it elaborate hoax by mom. Immoral but maybe not illegal under NY law. Not sure if alleged victim involved in the evidence bag hoax or had knowledge needs to investigate this.

DA says this is a DOG AND PONY show.

DA says not WHEN case goes to Grand Jury but IF case vs Kane goes to grand jury.


This is nuts.

A reporter is getting death and harm threats from people out there as she is saying she has a source..and that source is feeding her pro alleged victim info.

1. The rape kit exam was cut short due to to tech issues, which may be why cannot find Kane DNA on underwear.
2. The rape kit found semen and DNA that was or could be 5 years old on underwear....according to the reporter...
3. Other inflammatory info that hurts Kane case. or purports to.

ANd not only that but the alleged victim is a 21 year old model. SHe has underwear that is 5 years old? REally? And somehow got semen on it when she was at the youngest 16???

But they cannot find the DNA that was there from that day?

I am fine with Kane at camp. This is going to go away. Whether he did it or not...it is going away.

Not here to start another debate. Just wanted to state that nowadays 16 isn't "young" to have sex anymore. Most are way younger than that now unfortuantely. Anyway, only guys keep their underwears for 5 years or more!
