Line matching

Post by saberhagen83 »

So I've been playing a lot of EHM:EA today. I can't remember if this was a issue in 07, but I usually do my own scouting of the teams I'm playing against. So I find weaknesses in their 3rd line so I want to play my 1st line who are dominant night in night out against them. However, I wish to play my defensive minded 4th line against their 1st....can't do it!

Either I am blind or missing something, but is it not possible to match lines 1v3 & 4v1? There is only one option availible for 1v3 as far as I can see, and that matches 4v4.

I found the line matching a little restrictive too. It'd be nice to be able to set line matchups as you want (eg. play your 1st vs their 1st and 4th)...

And on an unrelated note, I'm now going to the wishlist thread ;)

-- EDIT --

Its just come to me, for now, if you want to play a combination that isn't on the list, select the closest one to it and then swap your lines around in the roster to suit

Ah interesting point! :-) Wonder if doing it would affect the players morale somehow though, taking them off 1st for 3rd or something?

I also noticed this the other night..

I wish there was a way to match your defensive lines separately than your offensive ones...
Meaning, while I might want my 1st OFF line against their 3rd line, I might want my 2st DEF pair against their 1st OFF line.

Or is there a way to do this and I missed it somehow?

Well if you want to do it for a single game, you could do it inside that game, I haven't played EHM anywhere near enough to know about stats, morale etc. (I'm making my lines from my NHL 15 GM mode). But, in FM (which I know well) as long as people are playing and the team is doing well, morale stays up.

Besides if morale starts to drop, change the matchups around and swap the lines accordingly :)

I haven't found a way to seperate them, but in my post on the wishlist I mentioned that since I thought it would be useful
