What has been your "Trade"
Two of the biggest trades in history in terms of profile and reach have been Gretzky and Lindros. With Lindros entering the hall of fame recently, I was wondering if you guys had something along the lines of Lindros leading to Rob Blake, Peter Forsburg, Patrick Roy, Alex Tanguay, etc

Just traded Mark Methot and a 2nd rounder for Seth Jones and Anton Volchenkov. I think that's relatively decent.

Re: What has been your "Trade"
Rob Schremp (Retired, I can't see is stats)
Max Friberg (720pts in 1086 games, but only 4 seasons with Hawks)
Rights of Aaron Irving(1pt in 2 games in the NHL)
vs
Patrick Kane (1587pts in 1271 games)
Friberg was a really good prospect, and Kane was on a 2 months injury. I racked up the deal, and he is with me since 14 seasons !

Re: What has been your "Trade"
Trades with big results don't neccesarily require big names.
I'm playing as the Leafs... I want to see if its possible or even that difficult to get the cup finals since so many GMs have failed for decades now, even with one of the biggest payroll. I'm not sure if the game really factors in the intense pressure from the Canadian media so many blame for the Leafs GM past and present, but after completing the first season (with rosters DLed after the trade deadline so I had no Clarkson but an injured Horton,) I ended up with 87 points, just one point shy of the Bruins in the 8th playoff spot (the real Leafs are probably looking at about 67 points at seasons end as I write this.)
My only two "big" but not blockbuster trades were:
Getting Toby Enstrom from the Jets after they put him on the block with their playoff chances slipping away, for Stuart Percy and Vernon Fiddler thrown in (he was obtained off waivers mostly for his face off abilities.) A great complement for Phaneuf, especially on PP.
The other was getting Darren Helm from the Wings after altering teams Nathan Horton was available. "Wheels" is fast and versatile, a natural winger but strong on the face off too. He has a high defense rating, so he can be a great shut-down option as well as a slam-dunk PK player and a SHG risk being so fast.
No need for huge names to get results- that's the Leafs problems for years. That would trade promising young players and draft picks that end up becoming elite players (Rask, Seguin, and Hamilton in recent years,) for over-the hill or over-hyped players that haven't been all-stars in five years- probably because of the media's demands to get good fast.

Trading for a good player while he is on IR is a known exploit in EHM 2007.StealthB2X wrote:Err how so?batdad wrote:Another great taking advantage of the AI deal. I love the fun in that.

Re: What has been your "Trade"
In EHM:EA I made a trade with the jets, it was bozak and dubnyk for ehlers, burmistrov and a first. The first was negotiated in, and at the time of the trade, it was looking like second half pick. The trade was good the jets, for a month. The last bit of January, February and March it was terrible... They ended up dead last, where I ended up nearly making the playoffs. That pick turned out to be Connor mcdavid. It wasn't my intention, but one hell of a pick.Animal31 wrote:Two of the biggest trades in history in terms of profile and reach have been Gretzky and Lindros. I remember in ehm07 making a trade to make reserve list space on my OHL team... I traded a guy and got an 11th round pick. The guy I drafted was this left wing with huge attributes. I wondered why he hadn't gone first, and it was because he was aiming to go NCAA. He signed with me and ended up becoming the 4th highest scorer in OHL history. Yannick something was the name, a left winger originally from ontario. He ended up going in the second round of the NHL draft, and was a steal there as he had a wonderful career.
One more, more recently, again in 07. I went into the draft with 4 picks. This young stud of a defenseman developed a hatred for me the year prior because we went to arbitration. Another year and another contraxt dispute we are about to embark on. I decided enough was enough. I traded him for a 25year old second line center, a decent prospect a 2nd and a 5th. It was the 5th rounder that I used to draft jonathon tetlow (Great Britain, legit player) who happened to have a very nice roll... The guy ended up being the best zdeno chara/Nik lidstrom. Huge stay at home dman (6'7") that could go nearly a point a game every year.

Re: What has been your "Trade"
Playing as Tampa Bay. Traded KIllorn and a 2nd to the Peg for Byfuglien. I now have Stamkos, a developed Jo Drouin and Byfuglien as my first line. They are literally fisting the league, with Stamkos earning 16 points in the first 6 games of the 2015-2016 season.
I also traded pennies for John Scott and Shawn Thorton, to pair with Paquette. All of them have been suspended multiple times (Paq had 108 penalty minutes in 5 pre-season games), but they all "see themselves with the team for the foreseeable future".
I just discovered this game the other day and I have fallen in love with it. Thank you for giving me an option other then EA to support a great hockey game.

That's an amazing top six, I'm having issues as the Senators with even getting past the 12th conference position. LOLAmazing Kreiderman wrote:StealthB2X wrote:Oh wow, what does your roster look like now? ahaAmazing Kreiderman wrote:I just managed to snatch Patrick Kane.

To be fair, the Rangers have a great team to start with. Defensively 6 guys who can play top4 minutes and St. Louis and Nash are better in the game than in real life haha. Kane, who was injured when I acquired him, now had 13 goals and 7 assists in 12 games. Sick!

Re: What has been your "Trade"
Yeah, I'm sorta trying to avoid blowing up my team, grabbing up Boychuk and Eberle did nothing except get me over the cap, ( I had plans to get under it anyway but I'm still dead last in the conference, poor goaltending, Lehner and Anderson (who I'm looking to ship out now) aren't performing consistently at all. But I have promising prospects in the system, Lazar, McDavid, Zacha, Barzal, Lindberg, Griffith (currently playing NHL minutes), Ceci and Pettersson Wentzel also seems very promising.Amazing Kreiderman wrote:Well,StealthB2X wrote:

**Edit** I'm starting to generate a ton of interest in Anderson, including a one for one deal with Anaheim for Fredrick Andersen (Which I found kinda funny).
