That is actually happening to me right now with White, but i might just reject it instead, hes not important anyway.bruins72 wrote:Has that happened or is that just a hypothetical question? If it looks like it's going to happen, I suppose a screen shot of the offer being submitted not long before the end of June. Realistically though, if you've got a player who is going to accept an offer, it's usually going to happen before that if you remember to make the offer.

Re: Challenge Questions & Feedback Thread
For me it was just hypothetical, but it has happened to me in the past in a few of my careers.
Usually my first 2 offers are for less than the player is asking (considerably less if I think the player is being unreasonable), and sometimes they take a long time to respond with rejection, then my 3rd or possibly 4th offer has slipped past the 1st of July.

Also, what are the rules for trading players' rights?

Also what about firing staff before 6 months after acquiring them? Allowed or not?

Also, what about players I hold rights to? Can I sign them any time or only during summer? (this particular player plays in Russia so he will arrive in summer nonetheless...)
Do they count as RFA or UFA signings?

5.4 You may sign your unsigned prospects (prospects who have never previously been contracted to your challenge team) at any point after starting the game until 1 October (inclusive). Further, you may also sign your unsigned prospects from 1 May until the following 1 October.
5.3 If a player contracted to your Challenge team becomes an RFA, you may re-sign him at any point after starting the game until 1 October (inclusive). This does not count towards your UFA quota.
6.3 You may sign your unsigned prospects (prospects who have never previously been contracted to your challenge team) from 1 May until 1 October (inclusive).

Great, thanks a lot! Now what with the player rights? Can I trade them in the same way as if they're signed or are there special rules?

You can trade only players, which have signed contract with you at least 12 months ago. So, you can not trade unsigned player rights at all.geckon wrote:Great, thanks a lot! Now what with the player rights? Can I trade them in the same way as if they're signed or are there special rules?

Re: Challenge Questions & Feedback Thread
You're not allowed to trade player rights. In the past we've found that teams are willing to give up too much for them. Now with the new version of the game, we might find at some point that we'll be able to allow it. But for right now it's not allowed.geckon wrote:Yeah, I can imagine.bruins72 wrote:Sure but I think it's unlikely to make it into the game. Not everyone plays the challenges.

As for rule 5.5.6, that's meant to make you keep players that you've acquired on your team for at least a year before trading them. It's doesn't apply to players who have already been on your team and are just extended.

Just getting a chance to look into this now. I assume using the same tiering sheet used in the New Jersey challenge?

So is it also against the rules if I give a player and the opponent gives player rights?bruins72 wrote:You're not allowed to trade player rights. What tier is Colaiacovo? I can't find him on the Tier list... I'm assuming he's C though.

I think he's a B. He was drafted 17th overall. So far he's my best dman in 50 games.Peter_Doherty wrote:What tier is Colaiacovo? I can't find him on the Tier list... I'm assuming he's C though.

The draft thing usually only counts for new young guys that doesn't have Tier, can't see how Cola warrants B so i will await Bruins answerbraeden wrote:I think he's a B. He was drafted 17th overall. Yeah, you're right! If we look at Cola's stats we see they're a little similar to Del Zotto and he's a C.Peter_Doherty wrote:The draft thing usually only counts for new young guys that doesn't have Tier, can't see how Cola warrants B so i will await Bruins answerbraeden wrote:I think he's a B. Re: Challenge Questions & Feedback Thread
Totally understand where you are coming from on that. But fact is ... it says if not in the tier sheet ..go by draft position. Therefore a B.

Yeah. There were some guys that I missed doing that sheet. As much as Cola probably should be a C, by the rules he's a B.

If i understood rules right i can in 1st season claim of waivers 1 player that is C ranked and i can sign from free transfer as well 1 guy who never ever played in NHL or was drafter by any NHL team?

Re: Challenge Questions & Feedback Thread
Yes, that's correct. You can make a waiver claim on a C player and sign a C player as a UFA in season 1.
