Funny how things are. I started my hockey life watching the Steelers in the beginning. I didn't follow the NHL much, had sympathy for the Habs due to their tradition, but when the Steelers signed Ken Priestlay, that was when I became a Penguin, but didn't follow much, afterall the only coverage we had back then was buying "The Hockey News" on hockey shops in Sheffield, or using the "internet" at the university. After I moved back to Brazil was when I started watching the NHL more to get my hockey fix through ESPN Latin America. Now I watch each and every game using NHL gamecenter live, even the warmups with the "goalie cam" lol. It's a shame EIHL's teams do not use streams to their potential. The Steelers didn't stream their game last saturday to get more bums on seats. Whilst that is fine for people in the UK, what about us fans elsewhere in the world? If you want the league/game to grow but keep blacking out potential fans is not the way to go. Use IP detection to blackout UK residents, yorkshire residents or whatever. Sorry for the rant at the end here. Just mad I didn't get to see the game last week.MontySteelers wrote:In my case I was a Flames fan first as a kid because my uncle brought me a jersey back, and then we started going to watch Sheffield Steelers games as a hockey fix.

Ahhhh Ken Priestlay, The Messiah. Still my favourite Steeler, Mathieu Roy is close though.mpronger wrote:Funny how things are. I started my hockey life watching the Steelers in the beginning. The game wasn't streamed last Saturday due to it being on Premier Sports in the UK, I am fairly sure you can use Premier Sports online player from abroad for a small fee, I think they are showing all the playoffs this weekend so might be worth having a look into it?

PCM is very, very, very time consuming. In fact, it is impossible to play that game without any simming. Just like this game, although I think it should be possible to manage 82 games completely.Peter_Doherty wrote:PCM should actually be a pretty decent comparison (much better then FHM), both have a very loyal following since before and both are kind of nisch games, if PCM can survive and continue to release a new game every year on 1k peak and 130 average then hopefully thats enough for EHM aswell...
I bought the game on steam, but start the game with the shortcut. Does that still count as playing via steam? Steam does start up after double clicking the shortcut.

I continue to want to see the game post good solid numbers. If this game gets a good press push here in Canada, you'd have a ton of people trying it out, especially at $15

Re: EHM:EA Sales Stats
I first saw Hockey when my wife and I were touring Canada in 2006, we found ourselves in Calgary one night and went to see the Flames against Sharks. At the time we didn't realise there was even a league in the UK but quickly started following Nottingham Panthers and would hardly miss a game home or away. Having kids has cut the number of games we see to a couple a season but we follow the NHL on Premier Sports.mpronger wrote:Funny how things are. On the other side of things, I grew up in the Soccer watching minority in the states, and I can't get into MLS. If it's the poor first touch, the fact that the teams are managed by the league, or that it's marketed as a retirement community for the who's who of world footballing, I'm not sure. I'll stick to watching the EPL though.

Yes but not by much.
Although it has got better in the last few years. Still a LONG way to go. First two things to make it better:
1. Get some real rivers
2, Lose the Stamps and Phlegms

I know a few from Holland who have it so I'm definitely not the only one. Trying to get more people to buy it.

We asked in our hotel if there was anything to do in Calvary and the guy in reception was a bit stumped, eventually he mentioned the Flames

Utrecht represents! I barely know people who really follow hockey as closely as I do. It's a shame!Amazing Kreiderman wrote:I know a few from Holland who have it so I'm definitely not the only one. Trying to get more people to buy it.

We have a few players in France. I'd say we're not far from 100 EHM players

Me too - I'd love to see the French and Italian leagues in there.Alveio wrote:It's still better than noneDoomski wrote:Alveio wrote:We have a few players in France. I'd say we're not far from 100 EHM players
It's seems like we're just two here anyway. I hope we'll have our French league in the game. Even if it's a bit lame IRL

Average players look pretty consistent as of now, it goes down a little bit since the launch but not alot.

Is there any word yet from SI? It would be nice to know what they see as "enough interest". You know, something weird like a objective criteria.

Yeah, it feels like most of the noobs comin in here are from Europe and not so many North Americans.Peter_Doherty wrote:Don't think there is, hope they atleast do some real marketing in Canada (and the Hockey parts of USA).
