EHM: EA on a Windows Tablet?

Post by Koekenbakker »

As posted in the mac section I just sold my windows laptop and bought a mac. Considering there is no official support I thought of something else: buy a windows tablet. According to this link (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/win ... 847-9.html) loads of windows steam games work cause a tablet these days is basically a full computer.

Also: playing this game on a tablet might even be better than sitting behind your desk.

So I was wondering if anyone with a windows tablet can try this out? Would be greatly appreciated.

I think I read on the SI Forums mention that someone had successfully managed this on a Windows tablet.

I've been reading a bit. You need the ones with the full windows. Surface pro 2 and 3 are great ones but go for 400 and 800 dollars. Since ehm doesn't require a lot I'm looking to see if there are cheaper alternatives.

I play the game on tablet, haven't had any issues with it. Tablets nowadays are actually powerful enough to run quite many games.

I use mine on a mac with vmware and windows 7. I full screen it and then just use three fingers to scroll between windows and mac. .... basically windows is ehm ... and mac does everything else.

Makes it great for reading stuff here in mac ..... three finger scroll ... ehm.

I'm running EHM:EA on my Dell Venue 8 Pro. Much cheaper than the Surface (got mine for under $300) and it runs the full Windows 8.1.

I just bought an Asus Transformer T100 (the one that runs the full windows 8.1) for 310$CAD on Amazon....

Not going to lie the reasons why I bought it, are for:
1. EHM: EA
2. EHM: EA
3. EHM: EA
4. EHM: EA
5. Internet Browsing
6. EHM: EA
7. EHM: EA
8. EHM: EA
9. EHM: EA
10. EHM: EA
11. EHM: EA
12. EHM: EA

I used to play on my full rig PC.. But sitting there for too long after spending a full day in front of a computer, is meh...
Playing on my Mac Book Pro wasn't really fun to use (first I dislike using Windows on it.. I keep hitting the CMD key instead of CTRL, secondly as much as I love the track pad, It's hell to use in EHM)

Playing EHM on my couch with touch controls, is going to be a blast!

Isn't it a bit uncomfortable consider that you always have to touch twice?

I haven't received my tablet yet.. I should received it this Friday, according to Canada Post.

What do you mean touch twice?

What will mostly be annoying, I think, is going through a bunch of trade offers and declining them one by one. (After you have Offer All a player)
I have my method of quickly pressing the spacebar followed by clicking the Deny button, which works great and a standard PC.

I wish there was a way to decline all offers at once.

But remember that you can use both of your hands to play around.

Yeah, it's a compromise we have to do, but it's still playable and enjoyable.

One touch to select and one to confirm, something like that

I just got my Asus T100.

Damm isn't there any way to avoid the double clicking? It's so annoying, lol.

I am looking at the possibilty of getting a new tablet just for EHM:EA.
I am just concerned that the database hard drive thrashing would send the SSD to an early grave.

As well, what would be the minimum size SSD required to play many seasons (all options selected) before running out of space... 32Gb, 64Gb, or 128Gb?

Also, which resolution do I go for... 1600x900, 1366x768, or 1280x800?
(I know the game is currently limited to 1024x768... but wasn't EHM 07 native resolution 1280x1024?....and if so, why did it get downsized?)
In windowed mode does EHM:EA stretch to near full screen without fuzzy looking text/graphics?

You cannot play in window mode if you resolution is not greater than 1024x768.

Meaning if it's 1368x768, you can only play in fullscreen.

If you are planning on playing with touch controls, take note that you need to double tab every buttons for them to register...pretty annoying, considering the amount of clicking this game has.
