Major tactical error. Seem to have not saved my end of season 1 totals in pictures. Have them at every 20 game interval except that one.

My bad! Next challenge I guess.

What an infuriating team, I can limit them to 22 shots and Mason is still gonna let 4 in. ](*,)

After 40 games of failing I reset all of my personal tactics and line tactics.

Then set my first and second lines to very offensive, high pressure, high forecheck, heavy shooting- and went 11-7-2

So pretty dissapointed that tactics don't really seem to manager that much from a logic standpoint.

I thought I had a chance for the playoffs heading into Q4 but the injury bug that has ruined so many of our EHM seasons hit only winning 5 games (how sad)

Pretty sure I am going to start over after editing the draft picks so i can see how i can rebuild them since I don't like taking advantage of the AI trades.

I don't know how you do it man... I can't keep Mason above a .900. Do you offer a course at my university?(only half joking)

I really need to grind away at this, my experimentation is getting me nowhere and I can't determine whether it's team tactics(D Zone, Forecheck, Tempo) or personal tactics.

Just for my own purposes I might restart this challenge to see how the new update affects it.

LOL at the quote. Lots of playing around until I found something. And then switch it and alternate it with different types of players on different lines. I have pretty much everything set to something....and I really use the scout reports to help me determine what I can do with individual tactics. But I strongly believe you have to use individual tactics with goalies and keep them in their nets and not have anything but very safe passing, and very defensive. And with Dmen pretty much the same. Very conservative settings. One forward on each line backchecking hard. One forward on each line set only to offensive and not very offensive.

In my game he sucks. :-x 16 pts (7+9) in 79 games, no points in playoffs.
Now during first offseason I just can't push him to waive his NTC. :help:

wow its end of january so i start my 1st negotiationing of the contracts with players...crazy but they all want double or triple what they made last season. Same goes for the guys in AHL..from what i can see to get a HG player that can play will be a hard one as well :)
Good news is goalies seems to do better now and im in the playoffs zone!

Yeah I am having difficulty as well. I am letting quite a few go. Really trying to hold on to Kostka and Akeson but they may have to go as well as will not freaking sign for anything. And neither is worth what I offerred them. Over 900 for both on 1 way deals. Ugh.

for me as well, I signed them for:

Colaiacovo - 1,01 M/y
MDZ - 2,27 M/y
Bellemare - 1,14 M/y
VDV - 1 M/y
Akeson - 1,4 M/y
White - 1,3 M/y

Emery wanted 1,7 M/y, Zepp 1,5 M/y, Andersson 1,6 M/y and Rinaldo I did not even bother to negotiate. So I let them leave to UFA.

And now, in the beginning of July everyone have morale "OK", only Lecavalier has "Good". Through all last season I was struggling to keep them at "OK"at least... ](*,) ](*,)

I am paying ZERO attention to morale. Just going off ratings, and not even average rating. If you end up with two 6 ratings in a row....out of the lineup for a game. And you may or may not get back in depending on what others do. Seems to work jsut fine considering my record. My morale for no player has been higher than very good, and I Really only get about 3-4 good guys.

But the rest are almost all okay save for my 4th line guys and guys in and out of lineup who are all low or very low. Does not seem to matter though.

At least noone is dancing and partying and being all hyper and stupid like a little kid in the dressing room. Ok and good are jsut fine by me.

I would like to get some top2 defenseman, Streit's age has impacted his performance in the end of previous season and I want to move him to second pairing now, as well as AMac, cause I feel he can be utilized there better. Probably will promote MDZ to first pair. But I can't land good trade for what i am willing to part way with... I can let go Grossmann, Umberger and L. Schenn. The only acceptable swap is Grossmann+minor prospect for A. Edler from Canucks. But I am not sure he will be able to handle top2 D minutes and usage. Also not sure, if he could work together with MDZ, as both of them are more talented in offence.
batdad - as Canucks expert, do you have some experience with him in EHM?

In my last 2 games moved A Mac to the first line PP. No reason, just wanted to try. His response...5 goals, including 2PP goals in the last two games. What the Dickens?

Had a really slow Q4, ended up on 60-18-4... Don't like going into playoffs during a slump but i'll tinker with the tactics some and see if we can't win the cup :)

There is a first for one of my players already in EHM EA. Claude Giroux wins the all star game MVP 1-3-4. Played on Team Stamkos in their 9-2 win over team Weber. Thinking it was Mike Weber. LOL.

He was centering the second line with Daniel Sedin and Jamie Benn. On RW on the second PP with Sid the kid and Daniel. Killed penalties with Stamkos and was on the 4x4 with Malkin. Wow...sure got to go with alot of superstars.

I restarted to rebuild through picks (yeah yeah disqualified, don't really care about the trophy) AND THIS PP IS STILL BS!!!!!!

I have never been this angry at EHM before I'm seriously about done with it. When I suck its understandable on bad teams, but this Flyers team is WAY to talented. Giroux and Voracek are two of the best in the league.

It is only 5 games in but my PP is 3.4%! I'm sorry but that is just absurd. 29 opportunities, 1 goal. Only 8 total goals!

edit: Grioux 0 points in 6 games also btw

So after my whining I changed top guys passing to adventurous and moved SImmonds to 2nd line RW (always on LW before even if on second line). Results? 19% PP now and 3.3 GPG, being now on verge of playoff contention through 20 games. Lots of injuries though and Giroux still sucking.

I WON THE CUP!

Started out against Pens in the first round and won 4-2, then there was Caps and again i won in 6 games, history repeated itself in the ECF and we beat Bruins in 6 games aswell :) In the SCF we were up against - wait for it, *drumroll* the OILERS! :D Won the SCF in 5 games to be champions! :)

Khudobin was the biggest factor in this win, posting a .935 Sv% and 1.87 GAA, Voracek lead us in scoring with 14+12!

Now that i have won the cup i will try to build from withing with help from the draft...

Just did the draft, as #30 i picked strong playmaking RW Gilles Gordon, as #60 i picked up RW/C Vlastimil Hudák, #90 LW Henrich Topoli (15 deflection, 17 slapshot, 16 wristshot), had 3 more picks but they probably won't stand a chance to make it. I had no prospects on the wings so i had to fill up there, happy with my picks, on to the off-season :)

Awards season and for the Flyers we got these;
Lester B. Pearson Award: Jakub Vorácek
James Norris Memorial Trophy: T.J. Brodie
King Clancy Memorial Trophy: Claude Giroux
Jack Adams Award: Craig Berube
NHL Plus-Minus Award: Jakub Vorácek
Hart Memorial Trophy: Claude Giroux
Conn Smythe Trophy: Anton Khudobin

Others mentioned were, Claude Giroux 2nd in the Art Ross race, Anton Khudobin 3rd in the Vezina vote, Shayne Gostisbehere 3rd for Calder, Claude Giroux 3rd in +/-, Jakub Vorácek 3rd in Conn Smythe.

Made my 2 UFA signings (Tier C), added some depth with Ryan White (Welcome back son) and Eriah Hayes... They will fight for a spot on my 4th line with Campbell, Garbutt and some kids...

I'm also looking to trade Mason, wanted to get a hold of a 1st rounder but it looks like mission impossible, best offer i got right now is Roland McKeown + 5th rounder, he looks a solid prospect so i'll probably go with that, need to dump Mason mostly for cap reasons, can't have a backup which i'm forced to play for 35 games while sitting on $5m cap hit... Juuse Saros is ready for NHL aswell so byebye Mason :P

60 games in. Power play clicked really well in this 41-60 frame. Scoring was up for my boys big time. Last 3 games started to struggle a bit, but still PP was working.

This team is good guys. What is the matter with you all? Easy challenge. LOL.

Waived Luke Schenn when Nick Schultz came back from injury as had called up Akeson and he was playing fairly well. Cleared so now I have something like 9 dmen on the Leghigh or whatever team.

Roster looks like this not much change to combos if any.

Umberger-Giroux-VOracek
Raffl-Schenn-Simmonds (Read)
Lecavalier-Couturier-Read (Simmonds)
Rinaldo-White-Akeson
Bellemare Vanderuselessdufus

MacDonald (playing Amazing til last 2 games)-Streit
Del Zotto-Kostka(wow 25 points)
Schultz-Grossman
Gudas

Mason
Emery

--Looking ahead, I hope to win the cup with this roster, but it is not going to be easy to do. I Struggle a little with Washington and believe it or not Columbus. That will make things tough. ON the other hand my games against the Leafs .... average score 7-1
