Not a good year for NHL players from Finland.
Nobody with 50 pts and nobody with 20 goals.
But they do have some good goaltenders

tbh their goalies (apart from Rinne) also underperformed... Rask, Niemi and Lehtonen atleast...

I still got a hard time believing no one reached 90 pts and that barely what, 5 players reached 80 pts? I read somewhere that it didn't happened since the 60's that the Art Ross winner had less than 90 pts!

Yeah, a lousy year. Something is wrong when Barkov (who always looks for passes) has the most goals of all Finns (16).Manimal wrote:Not a good year for NHL players from Finland.

Yup, a very strong year for rookies... I'm leaning towards Ekblad winning with Gaudreau and Stone the other nominees, kind of pains me as a Swede to leave Forsberg out but Stone and Gaudreau has been so clutch when their teams clinched playoff-spots and Ekblad is a given to me... Hayes has been a beast second half of the season, think he's over PPG over the last 35 or so games... He will be a superstar in this league...

You could've at least posted that in a place more appropriate than the NHL thread.

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
Gaudreau will be at least top 3 for Calder. In CAnada he gets all the press. Stone just started to get some in the last week or so. But honestly...Andrew Hammond is the rookie of the year. No question. BUt won't get it as only with the club for not even half the year. Dude ended up with more wins than Anderson and ..... he only played Feb March April. Insanity.
ROY-Ekblad, Gaudreau Forsberg
Coach-Laviolette, Hartley, should be Desjardins but will be Vigneault
MVP-Price, Stamkos, and someone else with no chance of winning it.
Defenseman--this one is hard for me. Karlsson had a great 2nd half, Josi overshadowed by Weber, PK Subban hated by so many for some stupid ass reasons. Was Giordano to lose until injured. Weber gets mention too, but Josi has been ridiculous. Wideman in CAlgary was insane since GIo got hurt. Tough call here.
Vezina--Not gonna write any names save one, no point. PRICE in a runaway

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
Agree with most there.. I hope Forsberg gets a nomination but i'm leaning towards Stone because he was so clutch when Sens secured playoffs.. Coach, you know my stance here AV all the way, agree with your nominees
MVP, Stamkos really? he wasn't even MVP of his own team
For me it's Price to lose but if they go literal with what Hart means then Dubnyk definitely deserves a nomination, maybe even a win here... Probably will be Price, Ovie and someone like JT/Cindy nominated just because... Norris is impossible, quite sure EK65 will be nominated but then there can be anyone of like 10 guys with him... Winner is really hard to say, don't think EK will win... Vezina, Price will get every single vote for #1... Maybe Dubnyk gets some votes from guys in the West he crushed on Wilds comeback but wont be close
Honestly though, Giordano should get Norris even if he missed 20 games, he was just that much better then the rest this season...

Stamkos didn't even got 1 PPG this year. I was really surprised. Missing St-Louis maybe? He did good though but I'm sure Ovy will be there just because he scored 53 goals.

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
Seeing who wins the Calder and the Norris is going to be interesting.
I have no clue on who should win the Norris, to be honest. It's going to be a really tough one.
The Calder is going to be between Akblad, Stone and Gaudreau. Unfortunatly for Forsberg, he had a too bad of a second year. Honorable mention to Klingberg! He normally would of been there, but this year was great for rookies.
I was 90% sure on Akblad two weeks ago, but Stone finished the year extremely strong. He was a huge part of the reason why the Sens made the playoff. I wouldn't be surprise to see him win it.
I think we all know that Carey Price will get the Hart and the Vezina, no doubts here...

They should just give Norris to Giordano even if he missed 20 games, he was a beast during 60.... I know Russell and Wideman took his minutes and did a great job when he got injured, but he was beasting it big time those 60 games...

Gotta have some homer picks
Stepan won't even be mentioned for Selke because it's a popularity award though, he is good enough to be in the mix but he wont be
AV is a legit contender for Jack Adams though for what he's done this season, and he will be in contention for Jack Adams

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
He sure has, but i took Stepan because he has been more consistent defensively, less flashy though... I really dislike how Selke is a popularity contest, nominees will probably be 3 out of Datsyuk, Kopitar, Toews and Bergeron. Can anyone actually say with a straight face that they have been the 4 best defensive forwards in the league this season? I haven't watched all of them alot but i can say that while Bergeron and Datsyuk are GREAT defensively, they are not so great that they should be nominated every year...Manimal wrote:Rick Nash has also been great defensively!Peter_Doherty wrote:Gotta have some homer picksStepan won't even be mentioned for Selke because it's a popularity award though, he is good enough to be in the mix but he wont be
