Winnipeg over Anaheim in 6 (Just for fun)

Nice game so far between the Sens and the Habs. Subban just got ejected for a heavy slashing on Stone.

Edit: Even more cray cray. It's now 3-3, 5 goals in the last 12 min or so. Hammond sure does not look good against breakaways so far.

LOL If not looking good against breakaways is the only criticism of a goalie....well I think the goalie would take that. Oh and where is Lehner the superstar? I know injured.

hahaha the breakaways goals were not highlight worthy by the Habs, just normal shots on a breakaway, he could have saved that in the regular season. The fourth goal he let in was kinda weak too. Reality hits him hard so far but I doubt he's beaten.

Well done by the refs to eject Subban there, hopefully DoPS has the balls to give him a few games suspension aswell, using the stick as a weapon like that outside the play is disgusting...

That wasn't a slash meant to injured, just a really dumb move. Stone was back on the ice less than 10 min after the hit and played the comedy reeeeeaaaaalllllllllyyyyy well, it was pathetic. A 5 min IMO could have done the job easily. Not suspension worthy at all, the guy's not even injured. If this needs a suspension, Kreider needed one last year! :-D But more seriously, we've seen worse thing with injuries that weren't punished at all and it's the playoffs right now, not going to happen.

Ugly start by Chicago but now it's 3-2!!

Stone was in and out of the dressing room all game, i think that slash is suspension worthy... It's far from the play and the only intent is to injure, two handed slash where he knows there is no padding... Thats a coward move from Subban, using the stick as a weapon is a no go, away from the play like that too, disgusting.... I think he should get a game or two, but probably won't happen, atleast the refs on the ice ejected him...

Wether a guy is injured or not should never be the base of a suspension. Players get injured by clean stuff, and stay healthy after illegal checks. The action itself is what should be cause of suspension, not the outcome.

I agree, Subbans play was dirty and the league should look at it, if Stones arm is broken or not shouldn't matter...

He was awesome, so fast and his hands are amazing...what a gem he could be!!

What a great win, game ended at 5.35am here for me, I'm absolutely shattered today, but was totally worth it. Perfect road game by the Flames.

Automatic ejection because of injury. A rule on this. He will not get extra.

Was not pretty, but nowhere near as bad as the media was making it out to be. Could have been alot more effort from Subban if he really wanted to injure him. That being said, brutal play and got what he deserved. Bet at worst he gets a fine. And injury should not matter for sure...but it does....or ref would have OPTION not to give 5 and game on the play. But ref does not. Black and white there, stick foul like that resulting in injury...5 and game.

Loved Dave Cameron comment though. THat is awesome and SOOOO very fine worthy when Neil does something stupid. LOL

Bennett was good last night. Real good. Fun to watch him.

I had to laugh that Wille D's former captain in Medicine Hat is THE MAIN REASON the Canucks lost last night. The Vancouver Hat TIgers....lose because of another TIger and his ridiculous defensive play and a great seeing eye shot. Those darn Tigers are cannibals. Canucks have to dress Linden Vey so they out Tiger the Flames.

Yeah, Cameron will probably get a fine, love his comment aswell... Hopefully Neil goes full Lidstrom, i love when a series just goes nuts :)

Mark Stone has a microfracture (what does that even mean?) in his right wrist and might not play more in this series, i bet habs-fans still think he dove... Subban should have been suspended but oh well, hopefully Neil makes them pay...

What did Cameron said?

Microfracture is just a very very small fracture, which is almost not a problem at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he finally plays. And yes, he clearly embelished it. It does not take a Habs fan to see that. Like Batdad said, Subban could have slash him way harder. It probably hurts alot yes but jumping on the ice (when it's your arm not your leg) and looking like you're getting murdered is acting as it best.

Cameron said that if PK wouldn't be suspended then a Sens players would chop at Habs best players next game and get 5+game no suspension aswell :)

And no, i really don't think he embellished it, he was in pain, sometimes you do Adam Oates like that when ur in pain, he probably thought his arm was severely broken... How could he slash harder? He took an axe-hold of the stick and chopped as hard as he could, sure he could have made a bigger backswing but thats about it... and he clearly aimed for the wrist where he knows there is no padding, clear intent to injure IMO...

I agree

I didn't think so myself (but I thought it was a brutal play, and a suspension wouldn't have surprised me)

philou21 wrote: he clearly embelished it.
I thought so too, and I'm not saying it didn't hurt, I'm saying he embellished it (reminded me of a soccer player HaHa)

And from a legal standpoint, if a "Bertuzzi/Moore incident" occurred, I'm sure it would be evidence! Not a bright thing for Cameron to say IMO

You play Peter? Just curious because it could not be more clear to me as a coach, player and parent for my entire life....that that slash was at best average in terms of what could have been done and I have seen and felt....and perhaps done

I do not play, no. But that doesn't mean i don't know how you can behave when you get hurt.. I thrashed my knee and i did not lay still, when in grave pain a person often moves alot, how someone moves often differs from person to person... That was a dirty hard slash outside of the play and he aimed where he knows there is no padding... It was not a soft slash either... It was meant to hurt Stone and it looks like he succeeded... That's my view of it atleast, don't need you to agree with me, but don't tell me what Subban was thinking and what Stone was feeling because neither of us know for sure.

When you hit your toe on something (we all do it from time to time:( ) do you just stand still then? I certainly don't, i jump around on my other leg and yell cursewords :P

Yeah....and I know from playing what that wind up was. Pretty much nothing. Seen and been involved in way way worse up close and personal. That was minor.....maybe caught him in a bad spot. You will notice I have not said anyting about whether Stone was hurt or not....just that the slash itself was on a scale of 1-10 about a 4 or 5. Maybe a 6.

And yeah I do stand still when I stub my toe and yell "I am a complete clutz"

Seriously I have had that exact slash delivered to me, and I have delivered it. Philouu....it hurts. Trust me. No acting...in the spot he got hit on the wrist it is like funny bone..vibrates the whole arm sometimes. That being said....it would have hurt a hell of a lot more if was a ridiculously bad slash.

Honestly...that hard a slash has come down on many a stick this season, last year and every game. Just hit a bad spot and I have no doubt that it hurt. But it is just a normal situation and i honestly do not believe PK was seriously trying to injure the rookie. I may have a different opinion if it was say.....Turris or Karlsson. PK is not that type of player. On the edge sure but not really dirty. Chirpy yea, not really dirty ...has got a bad rap for running his mouth. I think I am one of the few who actually likes PK and the way he plays. (Non hab fans).

Kid is exciting to watch, and I do not believe for a minute that that slash was horrible. Not good and penalty worthy for sure. But seen way worse even in the last 2 weeks.

So this slash was as hard as McSorley on Brashear? Or Kessel on John Scott when Scott tried to jump on Scott? Man you're so stubborn and blind it's ridiculous sometimes! :-D

And yeah, I'm sure it hurts Batdad but Nino nailed it for me. Soccer player reaction. :-D

Hmmm...based on my experience, if you had played, you wouldn't be saying some of what you're saying.
And if you acted the way you describe when you got hurt, you wouldn't have had anyone to play hockey with :-D

But times they are a changing!
That's why I'm OK with making the nets bigger myself. Hockey is changing.

It's likely such acts of aggression are going to become less and less over time (if you think it's rough now it's nothing compared to what I saw in the 1970s, and back then I was told by oldtimers it was nothing compared to the 1950s! HaHa).
Forwards put themselves in vulnerable positions all the time now (like they're playing ringette IMO), and big, strong players are punished for being big, strong players.
When it is fast, the NHL game is artificially fast IMO (with the short shifts/multiple coaches and tag-up offsides).

Nowadays most often I find NHL hockey boring, and when it's not it mostly reminds me of ringette.
The forechecking game I grew up with doesn't really exist anymore, and hasn't for a long time.

batdad - Oh, i thought you were arguing that he embellished it, my bad then, misunderstanding from my side... Yeah i can agree that it was about a 6 and that the worst part was where he hit him and where they were in comparison to the puck... I do think it was intentional, they were so far away from the play that it must have been, no?

philou - Did i ever, in any of my posts say that the slash was as hard as any other slash? did i ever compare it to anything? No i did not... The slash was very dirty and i really don't think Stone embellished it, he was in pain... I really don't understand how anyone can defend that play though, he uses his stick as a weapon far from the play...

nino - The worst thing about it is clearly that its out of the play, if Stone has the puck then it's just a 2min minor i would say, but since it's outside of the play and Stone is just minding his own business the play just gets really dirty to me...

The leap UP into the air after being slashed...you seen that in hockey? I don't recall it

I think he woulda been fine if the Senators had that magic spray they use on soccer players :-D
