My first game as Canucks GM

Post by batdad »

Wow! Not sure if I should post his here, but I will:

I love this game. In spite of 4 separate injuries to Markus Naslund causing him to only play 59 games, and 2 to Roberto Luongo (more on this in a minute), my Vancouver Canucks have won the President's Trophy! 110 points, 52 outright wins. WOW!

Lineup right now:

D Sedin H Sedin Collins (the ECHL guy mentioned on si.com forums)
Naslund Morrison Pyatt
Laaksonen(waivers) J. Madden (Waivers) Linden
Bouck Mapletoft (NYI trade) Radivojevic (trade with SJ)

Ohlund Salo
Mitchell Kwiatkowski
Seidenberg(trade) Wescott (trade)
Hedican (recall waivers) Gauthier (recall waivers)

Sean Burke (recall waivers---phew in a minute)
Flaherty

In a ten game stretch just before the end of the season Luongo had 3 shutouts and Burke had 1. Lost my last 2 games to Colorado (4-1) and Phoenix (2-0---only the 2nd time I was shutout, and 1st since October)

Roberto Luongo--Yep gets injured in the last game of the season. Out for 10 days. Had to play him because needed a win or Buffalo loss to have me win presidents trophy. Injured in 2nd period. Thankfully, Buffalo lost.

Oh and Minty...You will find this interesting. Canucks vs Hawks in the 1st round!

One thing I did, that I should not be allowed to do...Traded overpaid Kesler.

I am shocked at how well I have done. This Sean Collins kid is good. I think he has something like 30 points in 40 games.

How old is Sean Collins? It's pretty cool he can play on the first line already

He is 24. In 31 reg season games he was 9-11-20. 22 pim plus 4. average rating on line 1 was 6.81. Played all his games on 1st line beause either Nazzy or Sedin was hurt. 7 games in playoffs (all line 4, 2nd line pp) 1-2-3 including a game winner, and assist in Triple Overtime.

I cannot figure out how to set up screen shots.

I really want to show Minty the 1st game of the Chicago series. Triple OT Canuck Victory. Shots were like 75-36 (oops typoed originally backwards shots) for Vancouver, and Ohlund played 54 minutes or something ridiculous. :-D

Oh yeah I won the first 3 games with Burke in net...then lost 3 with Burke in net. Put Luongo in for game 7 (just got healthy) and won it 5-3.

Bring on round 2 with the Wild.

(BTW--now with Nazzy back, but Morrison out...guess who gets to play on a higher line again?)
