Really? I heard the ref gave a penalty to Moore? I'm not sure if it was tonight though. I might be mistaken.Peter_Doherty wrote:Didn't see it, good thing the refs didn't buy it then

Oh, you probably meant the interference Brassard got, ya Lapierre sold that one... Reffing in this game has been atrocious, Cindy can do whatever the Lindros he wants and still gets the call with him not against him... HORRIBLE refs....philou21 wrote:Really? Doesn't start to look good for MTL. Atrocious game yesterday again and Price was left alone on defense. They did manage to lead 46 to 25 in shots though but the Sens were more opportunist. Montreal should just give up on powerplays as well. 1 in 20 now I think. They did what they haven't done last game though, they shot alot on Anderson but most of those shots are bad angles or too close on the goalie. They won't score with small shots like those that's for sure and Anderson seems in his comfort zone. I said MTL will win in 7 and it might be it despise the 3-0 lead they had. If they don't find a way to beat Anderson though, they're done.
Glad to see Pitts gone. This prove again how the team management sucks despise having two of the best player in the NHL in their team. Well, did Malking played this serie?
But they really need to do something about it.

Penguins should never have brought in Rutherford. Guy is 200 years old. Need fresh thinking not old school thinking. And as for dealing Malkin...I hear the Oilers need a forward or two.

Isles won!
Media now freaking with what happened between Prust and Anderson lol Even Anderson said yesterday those things are normal when the intensity rise up and to move on. In the meanwhile Gryba is freaking out and seems to forget what he did to Eller 2 years ago was way worse.

Preds are done. Crazy game between Vcr and Calgary right now.
Edit: Vcr is done too. Ok, that Ferland goal was ridiculous. Could have put back the goalie on at least at the end like that.

Wohoo CGY!! So glad Nucks are out.
Yes indeed it was a crazy game. CHI-NSH was pretty crazy too. Duncan's GWG was really awesome.

Montreal beats Ottawa 1-0. Price stood up big time. I don't see MTL getting pass the second round with such a weak attack though, except if Price continues to be OP.

Who you got tonight? Can Halak do it again in an elimination game vs Caps? I think Caps will probably win, Isles D is just too injury plagued...

Subban, Karlsson and Doughty for the Norris. I'm surprised that Weber or Josi are not there. I don't know much of Doughty's season has he been that good?

Re: Official 2015 NHL Playoff Thread
Yeah, Doughty has been really really good. Out of those 3 i would pick Doughty, mostly because hes a complete D-man while Subban and Karlsson are (almost) pure offense. I really think Giordano should have been there though, so what if he missed 20 games? He was by far the best D-man this season. I guess Weber and Josi trip eachother up, both have been great but since they are in the same pairing none of them were nominated instead
Even though it hurts my Rangers heart i also think that John Carlson was better this season then Subban.

Re: Official 2015 NHL Playoff Thread
Miss 1/4 of the year and get nominated? Nah. Especially since Calgary kept on ticking without him. Clearly Russell, Brodie and Wiedman had something to do with it as well.
Weber and Josi did the same thing to each other as the Calgary dmen did. Karlsson has no other D, Doughty lost his 2nd in command (let us not underestimate Voynov and Martinez losses in why Kings did not make playoffs...not to mention Mitchell)
PK is a stud. All round stud. You go to a game and you are instantly drawn to watching him because he is alwayss doing something exciting. Doughty is a bit like that as well, and Karlsson. All three are ridiculous. ANd I would beg to differ that PK is not good defensively. He is solid, and showed it in Olympics to the world. Karlsson is not bad either...at least not Edler, Bieksa, Sbisa bad.

Yeah, they are obviously not bad but of those 3 Doughty is on another level defensively. I still think Giordano had the best season but whatever, of these 3 Doughty should probably win but wouldn't be surprised if EK65 gets it. Honestly though this was a very very tough and even year for Norris, very hard to go wrong. Can make a case for about 10 different D-men, these 3 included so yeah, not complaining just different taste and opinions here...

Re: Official 2015 NHL Playoff Thread
Exactly...and no need to keep saying "just stating opinions here" because that is what everyone does. And when statements get made people can debate them because they are matters of opinion. Karlsson may well win it and like you said would not be upset with whoever does. The top elite D in the league right now is so close in caliber that when we talk about it we do not even mention the one who is perhaps the best of the bunch, and continually...year in and year out shows it.

I can't find the full stats of both Subban and Karlsson but I know the only place where Karlsson beats Subban is in pts. Subban got more +/-, +21 vs +7 (which with Price is understandable), more shots block, 142 vs 89, more PK time I think too. Oh yeah, more giveaway by PK though, 112 vs 99. But the race for the Norris between those two is really, really close. Both are awesome players.

Re: Official 2015 NHL Playoff Thread
Yup, him too...
Suter has had a meh year points wise but he is so good aswell, carrying that Wild D pretty hard even though he has some backup now that he didn't earlier, which is probably why his points total was a little bit down.
As you say, they are all so close.
philou - Yup, they are really close. However going by how they usually go by choosing i think EK65 is ahead of PK, it's close though but points usually is the difference. Doughty adds something different though so i think its mostly between EK65 and Doughty.

Refs having a mare as usual, Kronwall gets away with murder. https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/CDo9IbpW8AEJfd1.mp4
Thats game + atleast 5 games any day of the week, refs didn't even give him 2 min.
