Well, one cannot blame them. After all, this is one of the few chances for them to drink real beer.

I'm home again. It was really great in Prague! Yesterday the game against Latvia was the absolute highlight. Just great! The Latvians are a pretty crazy folk. But always fair!

Re: The IIHF World Championships 2015
yes i remove it. Perhaps a bit exaggerated.
Nevertheless, the performance of Sweden is bad. Against Germany won with a lot of luck and not unconvinced against Switzerland, too.
But please, what Ekholm allowed to offend our players so? (https://mobile.twitter.com/HockeyWebCas ... 9979603968)
For this statement he would to earned the same check.
Check was clean. (If ever 2 + 2 minutes penalty.) So should not play crybaby, but rather bring better performance.

Re: The IIHF World Championships 2015
very unhappy with performances of Slovenia on this WC...we expected to stay in the group A without much problems (we expect close games and some wins against Belarus, Slovakia, Norway and Denmark)..yet we couldnt show the game from Olympic games and we are going back to group B. Those who would know the situation of the hockey in Slovenia would still say we are world champions in our own way.
Some of the players we expected a lot didnt perform (Jeglic - Ticar - Sabolic, Mursak,...). This was far the strongest team we had like in Olympics as there was also Kopitar...too bad!

I do not understand why Slovenia were so bad, too. The Roster is actually not so bad.Kopi wrote:very unhappy with performances of Slovenia on this WC...we expected to stay in the group A without much problems (we expect close games and some wins against Belarus, Slovakia, Norway and Denmark)..yet we couldnt show the game from Olympic games and we are going back to group B. Thats the best team we could possible get. Same team as it was in the Olympics.djskek wrote:I do not understand why Slovenia were so bad, too. Its just funny at warm up we beat Croatia with all their Canadian players easly 5:2 just after 2 days of the camp with 70% of our players (no Kopitar or Mursak) and then Hungary with their new Canadian core that help him moved now to group A...so basicly we are too good for group B yet cant stay in group A

Re: The IIHF World Championships 2015
A though game against Belarus today. Just comes to show that Finland should score earlier than in the final 10 minutes but honestly 3-2 OT win was a totally fair score. I'm just hoping that Russia won't skate over us, we still have a slight chance to even win our group if we can beat them. In the end I'm most glad about the fact that we avoided facing Canada in the quarterfinals.

Re: The IIHF World Championships 2015
Please do not use "we" in such a subjective statements. General opinion in Slovenia is and was far from "without much problems". To stay in top division indeed was the main goal of the team, though vast minority of you expected to be achieved "without much problems".Kopi wrote:we expected to stay in the group A without much problems (we expect close games and some wins against Belarus, Slovakia, Norway and Denmark)
Also, I don't know how 'very disappointed' and 'without much problems' can be combined in the same statement, considering "we" (which means you) expected close games against Belarus, Slovakia, Norway and Denmark. Didn't we get what "we" expected? Conceeding empty netter against Belarus, winning against Denmark and losing late in 3rd against Slovakia?
Of course we don't feel good about relegating and "we" (which means me) feel the team should and could play better. But much more fans in Slovenia are proud of the guys anyway and are far from being very disappointed.

I do not agree with you ... We are not satisfied because we fans were all expecting more and same goes for players. I understand in your part of our country you might been satisfied overally.Icos wrote:Please do not use "we" in such a subjective statements. I still want that Kopitar stay in the saddle of the nat. Team.
PS: That »we« is far from »me«…but »we«..or maybe you would want to hear »them« did not reach the goal they had.

I say many times "we" when talking about Finland's hockey team. That's very common here.

Of course it's common, but you should only use "we" when expressing a general opinion or opinion of majority of people. I don't see majority of people in Slovenia to be "very unhappy" with teams performance. I read Kopi post again and I might have got it wrong a bit, but still the point stands.

Re: The IIHF World Championships 2015
i'm really stunned now. france beat latvia 3-2 in a shootout. the only possible scenario (3 teams with 5 points) where both team won't be relegated. some others (NOT ME
) smell conspiracy. so "my" austrian team is sent to division b. and all this because we lost to both of these teams, despite controlling the games and outchancing them in the direct matchups. we just couldn't convert our many scoring chances.
at the start of the tournament no one thought that we even stand a chance with this young, rebuild team. now after good performances it's really hard to swallow the relegation.
my opinion: what i noticed in general, is that the difference between the hockey-powerhouses (canada, russia, sweden etc.) and the smaller hockey nations (austria, slovenia, germany! etc.) has grown. we will see if it's good to have a pool of 16 teams and see the smaller teams loose 1-10, 0-10, 2-7 etc.

Wohoo! Finland won Russia on shootout.
But what in Gods name are those referees thinking? They gave Leo Komarov 5+20 from nothing. Called it kneeing when his knees didn't even hit Medvedev.
What do you guys think? You should be able to see it here: http://www.jatkoaika.com/Kolumni/komaro ... aus/167407

Re: The IIHF World Championships 2015
After the performance of Canada, an NHL quota should be introduced at the World Championships and the Olympics. Perhaps max. 6-8 players from the NHL per country. Perhaps the tournament then something exciting and even small nations will have the opportunity to achieve more.
Kanda plays only with their opponents. If Canada 3 periods play 100%, then no other opponent will have a chance.
In the first period they let play Sweden and then to start playing resolutely with Ice Hockey. Today against Austria they have won probably not even with 60% - 70% exertion 10:1. Where is there still the point? Team Canada laugh oneself silly over their opponents.
