Do players get bigger over time?

Post by munky »

This question popped up at another forum I frequent.

Would a young guy, say 15 years old or so, grow in the game? I would hope so, otherwise if you play long enough no one would be over 150 pounds or so.

I don't know if this actually happens numerically as reflected in an increased height and weight dispalyed, but it is reflected at least in increasing strength etc as those are things that affect how a player performs. I'm not sure if at this point the game engine cares if a player is 6'5" 250 or 5'9" 160 really, but players do act differently if they have a strength of 18 versus a strength of 8 8-)

Players DO change weight and height over time.

Say a 17 year old prospect that's 6'0, after a year or two your should at least see him at 6'1 or 6'2 and the weight will increase too. I was managing the pens and I watched Sidney grew 1 inch or so, and his weight went near 200lbs.

If you're checking to see if a player will get bigger, when looking at their scouting reports if it says that they have a bigger frame, then they'll most likely grow.

Oh no, wait... the thread is two years old. :-D

Anyways, yes they do get bigger. Just look at our players at the Create a TBL Star competition. Not that size really matteres in this game though. It's the physical attributes that matter, not the size.
