Editing league structures in EHM 2007 DBs for EHM:EA

Post by listro55 »

Just something random, but I've just noticed using the Pre-game editor on the EHM07 database 7.3 doesn't work competition alignments. Not a problem, but just a random fact I figured I'd share. Found it by attempting to create the new look AHL of next year, and noticing that the database still only has 4 AHL divisions. I had started a test game previously, so i went in EHM:EA to check and there are 6 AHL divisions, as it should be currently.

Is it possible the Editor just doesn't work fully or maybe EHM:EA is stubborn? Makes me worry a tad.

The Import function in EHM:EA is pre-programmed to move certain teams into certain divisions if you import using the 2014 league structures and rules. So the alignments you'll see in the Pre-Game Editor will appear different in EHM:EA once you you import the data.

Is there a way we can work around that? I am working on a fictional game/teams, moving teams like Phoenix, Florida and adding Halifax, Hamilton, amongst others, but the teams move to the divisions of the teams I used to overwrite them with.

Not at the moment, no. You'll have to rename/edit the existing teams.

I believe there may be plans to override this behaviour via import_config in the future.

Thanks I have made the NHL Geographical but in Game only change is a name of a Division to Northcentral. No Metropolitan Division in Editor. And would have to move all Players and Staff to.

Hopefully we'll eventually be able to make such edits, but alas not yet (and the focus on the gameplay and fixing bugs is the first priority).....but I too am looking forward to when we can make such edits (as I think you know Archi's begun the work on an EHM:EA Editor, but it's a long process!)
