I've never done one of these challenges before. Other than downloading the save game and following the instructions laid out, is there anything else that I need to download or do?

Which rosters is this using? The 7.3? Also, this is with EHM 07, not EHM: EA right?

I opened it in EHM: EA, so I'm assuming it's for EHM: EA.

This is for EHM:EA. We're no longer running any challenges using EHM2007.

There is a saved game that this is using. I created the saved game using 7.3 but it shouldn't matter too much because everyone is starting from the same save.

Everything for this challenge is in the news announcement. There is a link to the saved game that needs to be downloaded and all of the rules are laid out in that post. If anyone has any specific questions, go ahead and ask.

This sounds like an awesome challenge - looking forward to joining my first in quite awhile.

Do the usual reporting methods apply? (screenshots, 20 game bunches, etc.)

Awesome. I actually got all the stuff done to get the challenge game into my files. #proudofmyself. #notsooldafterall. LOL.

Anyway, I am loving the idea of this challenge, but I am sad Frank Corrado is gone. In my test game, he makes the team in 2016-17 and although his attributes suck he is the highest rated player on my team 25 games in to the season. 7.74 with 15 points. Oh well.....and oh yeah..horrible deal that previous manager made.

I am assuming from the rules listed we cannot add staff at this time, that we have to wait to July 1? Only having 12 scouts hurts a little, but not alot.

Yes, you must wait until July 1st to make changes to your staff. You've got to work with the staff in place until then.

What about the contracted player(s) at Utica (AHL) over 28 years? I mean Sergei Topol. Cal O'Reilly and Derek Dorsett should get 29 after start of the new season...

I really dont get it also talked with a member in the steam group my last try it stopped at 120mb????

Dorsett will not be 29 til December, so after season starts, so he is okay to re sign. Topol is not signed and my guess-should be released as he is not good enough anyway. O'Reilly will be 29 by season start...so he should not be re signed. Cannot get anything for Topol and O'Reilly anyway. They suck.

-Question 2: Able to hire staff if I take over Utica or have to wait to July 1 for them as well? This is what I would do. Wait to July 1 for staff for all our teams...Van, Utica and Kalamazoo.

Dorsett and O'Reilly are okay to re-sign.

Are you using the saved game that was provide in the news post? I don't see Topol on the Utica roster. Vancouver still holds his rights he's not under contract.

Also, just to make sure it's clear, you cannot sign any of your unsigned prospects that are over 24 years old. So even though you still own the rights to guys like Topol, you cannot sign them.

Managed to trade Chris Higgins and Ryan Miller to the Caps for Latta, Wilson, and O'Brien. I may lose, but at least we'll be tough.

I don't think the affiliate stuff really matters. You'll have much better pickings after if you wait until July 1st anyway.

Do you have a Microsoft OneDrive account? If not, sign up for it (it's free) and try downloading it while logged in.

I really don't know what else to suggest.

I had a deal in place for Wilson and O'Brien (and others, IIRC) but went in a different direction.
