Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
My start in season 2 was 0-19-1 with 29 GF and 95 GA
What could be worse? Maybe the Sharks' 93-season, but that would be all I can think of

Going that fast must mean ur sacrificing tactics, spend more time on that and your results will improve.bruins72 wrote:stone169 wrote:It could be worse. You could be me. Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I have been tinkering with my tactics. My biggest problem, and always has been my biggest problem is my PK. I could be leading a game 3-0 and then all of sudden the other team goes 3/3 on the PP. I haven't been able to figure that one out yet.Peter_Doherty wrote:bruins72 wrote:stone169 wrote:

Plus I know where I've gone wrong in this challenge as well and I've spent part of season 4 fixing that. But I still need a lot of help with my PK.

PK is as PP - a disaster. No matter what I try, I won't get a better PP than 11% while my PK mostly is between 65 and 75%, I had games with opponents scoring 7 PPG.

I think season 4 was the lowest my PP has ever been, and I mean ever, and just above 14%.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
Yeah the guys in season 5 are not taking enough time with this. I know I could play faster, but I know I would not do as well as I do if I did in the challenges.
*Manimal--LOL, I guess your board does not like the whips and chains. Too funny.
*Technically I play while I work too. Since I am a stay at home parent.
*coolwoof---Lots of time invested in this game, ins and outs have been dealt with for years and years. I learned and I read and I learned some more from trial and error. My first what was it 2-3 challenges? I Sucked. Then I started reading up and trying new things, and hit on some ridiculous tactics for defensive purposes.
I actually have a routine I use with player lineup, tactic changes, line matching, and line use I use in the playoffs. I try other things all the time, and I lose. It seems as though the changes I have made from game to game and period to period work for me. Still lose occasionally, but most of the time I win. I get bored with it and tinker and play with it, and then go back to it...then I change it again...and then I lose.
I am absolutely flabbergasted at how well this team has done, I mean in the regular season JEnsen was my high goal scorer with 26 and NElson points with 52 or something totally bad like that. I believe all but one of my losses was by one goal (often empty netters to end it and make more than one) and my wins were not.
I absolutely love this game, and if I could fully explain why my teams perform so well defensively without taking three hundred screen shots and three hundred hours on the site I Would.
My results mind boggle me. Unknown Users offensive tactics are my version of defense. How in heck did he get Tarasenko to 170 points? IN what 20 min per game ice time? Sheesh.

Ok then i tell how i play.I never played the older versions only the freeware years ago and this is m first challenge and what i dan say so far its fun and i really like it.Also i play with lot players i already know in my other saves i play and push the young players.Like in another save i play i have my absloute dream line of filip formark gustav franzen and jesse puljujaervi they are all ppg players 500 games played. But one thing i still dont get how many experienced players do u need for the playoffs like now my goali is just phenomenal i picked blackwood in 2015 draft and since season two he plays strating goalie so now the point is he too young for playoffs or not.The same jesper lindgren i mean he won the norris in my season 3 and what age 21 not more to say.My oldest defender in the challenge now is folin 26 and the rest are all much younger and thats what i think is lacking in the playoffs. But maybe this year i can win the cup

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I find sometimes I blow out teams but a lot of the times they pull their goalie twice and I score 2 quick goals at the end.. I've been getting way to many shots against recently and goalies been going down in GAA
I got Tarasenko carrying me in season 1... Season 2 he has been injured a few times and my first line is struggling pretty bad. But I think a lot of the excess points are coming from empty net goals. I've been changing up my core tactics a bit though

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I'm going to try some different things. Right now it's my PK that's just killing me. Plus with this challenge I kind of got away from what I normally do, which is taking the Red Wings approach to player development and I went into total youth mode and rushed a lot of guys that I shouldn't have. I'm no longer in last place anymore, and I'm pretty much taking the 'sticking with what I have' approach right now, while I try to settle myself down.

Yeah, he will be a beast (already there?)
He's probably my best goalie already but i'll keep him in AHL for one season, i made a mistake by not signing him right away i think, but it will be fine

Demko is taking my Comets to the Calder Cup final in his first season. This is the first season, not the second.
His regular season record? 35-12-2 2.07 .930 8.05
Playoff? 12-3-0 1.97 .934 8.25

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
Why would I? Markstrom just won the Conn Smythe. LOL.
Defeat Minnesota 4 games to 1.
Defeat Washington 4 games to 0
The Vancouver Canucks are your 2015-16 STanley Cup Champions.
Seriously, just won the cup...so not sure yet re next season, but guessing Markstrom wins Conn Smythe over Ovenchicken and Sven Bartschi.
Markstrom playoff record
19 games 16w 3l (1 in OT) 1.44 .950 9.03 avg rating. Highest avg rating I have seen in the game so far. and yes SIX shutouts.
Bartschi 11-9-20
Morin 11-8-19

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
40 games of season 2 gone. Yep, as I thought at the start — we are at the top of the league right now, PP somewhere around 20%, PK 81%. McDavid gets 3rd line minutes and he's doing fine. Bartschi, Mantha, Kadri and Jensen are beasts, Conacher is PP scoring god. Rielly again is our best defender. I should say we are a pretty much solid team. No super-stars yet, but many good quality players. But I really want to get top class defender, we need him. And another little "problem": with Ortio and Demko I have two top notch GKs. Maybe one of them will have to go for that top2 D… We'll see.

Wow, you really get the cup in season 1? Great work, batdad, congratulations.
Seems like it's really the most important thing to find the perfect matching tactics to the players you have. In my game, Markstrom was a flop, Conacher couldn't find the empty net and Bartschi is everything but a good scorer.

I am not the only one who did it guys.
And I will not win year one of the challenge, because that person has a zillion points from one guy.
*UTICA helps me and gets the double complete defeating the Portland Pirates 4 games to 0 to win the CALDER CUP!
No more shocking hockey season for the people of Vancouver. EVER
