Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I still have pretty big defensive problems, i have all my d-men on very defensive or defensive mentality and very safe or safe passing still i just allow too many goals, hope i get it working with some time. PK sits at 42% after 5 games so that's obviously quite a big problem

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I made two off season moves.
1. To allow Mirco Muller and possibly Adam Clendenning into the lineup... I moved Bobby Sanguinetti, who had done well for me (0-13-13 6.8 rating reg season) (2-9-11 7.5 rating playoffs) for what I thought was 2nd 2017 and 3rd 2017. Messed up and it was the third for 2018 *see my screen shot in screen shots* OOPS....punish me B72.
2. Eddie Lack to the Carolina Hurricanes for Madison Bowey and Alex Nedeljkovic. This deal was done to make room for either Eriksson or Demko this season and Demko in the future. Also needed another young D prospect and I believe Bowie will be a decent 5-6 guy (contrary to my scouts). The young goalie also gives me something to come in in the future if/when I decide Markstrom has enough trade value for what he is.
Those are the moves I am making for now.
BOnino--STILL WANTS TO BE TRADED and still will not be. Even though I could. Some day I may move the whiny little wuss, but not right now.
Projected Canucks line up 2016-17
Nelson-Bonino-Morin
Bartschi-Scheifele-Jensen
Conacher-Rakell-Kassian
Shinkaruk-Matthias-Vey
McMillan (Grenier, Kenins, or Horvat)
Dillon-Trouba
Stanton-Tanev
Muller-Weber
Clendenning or Sbisa
Markstrom
(Eriksson or Demko)
PP1: Bartschi-Bonino-Jensen-Muller-Trouba
PP2: Shinkaruk-Sheifele-Morin (Vey)- Dillon-Weber
PK1: Matthias-Nelson-Stanton-Tanev
PK2: Rakell-Kassian (McMIllan if dressed)-Dillon-Trouba
Projected Utica Lineup
Blomstrand-Horvat-Grenier
Kenins--Kyle Connor(1st round 2015)-VIrtanen
Gaunce-Les Potter (7th round 2016)-AHL Signee
Fox-Brett Pollock-AHL Signee
Tommernes-Bowey
Blain-Tryamkin
Pedan-Donaghey
McEneney-Christian Jaros (2016 5th round)
Demko or Eriksson
Nedeljkovic
My 2016 NHL ENTRY DRAFT...
1st--30th overall--David Quenville 510 180 RD Medicine Hat Tigers WHL- 3-4 potential and a better Taylor Chorney.
2nd 60th overall-Wiktor Mattsson 510 207 LD Bjorkloven Swe 2- 1-2 potential, from 4 scouts, 5-6 from 2. A poor man;s Trevor Daley (Guessing a 5-6 guy at best)
4th 120th overall-Paul Young 6 1 205 RW/LW Phillips-Andover, committed to New England Nor'Easters for this season-Mixed as 3rd line, 4th line...poor man's Ryan Reeves, yet is called a flashy forward in reports. LOL.
5th 150th overall Christian Jaros 6 4 205 RD Lulea SHL--now signed to Vancouver, will play AHL 5-6 potential, Thomas Gradin says 3-4 (hoping one of his steals) but compared to two non NHL defensemen.
6th 180th overall-Pavel Karnaukhov 6 3 207 C Calgary Hitmen WHL - 3rd lne, compared to Shawn Matthias and Dennis Rasmussen. So borderline player for me ever.
7th 210 overall Les Potter 6 3 227 C Blake High School --not a smart guy, as he has turned 20 so must have flunked a few. Took because my scouts love him and media has said he has big things ahead of him several times (three during this season, one after I came on board last season). However, scout report says 4th line, and like Brooks Laich. better be better than Brooks Laich. Now signed and will play in Utica I think.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I'm in the off-season before the 2016-2017 season. I'm trying to make my trades to retool this lineup a bit. I haven't found a deal for Conacher yet. I'll probably have to wait until the season kicks off. I did manage to pull off one deal though. I sent a couple 28 year olds out. I traded Lack and Acton to the Oiler for Chris Tierny. The Sharks had traded Tierny and a prospect named Chartier to the Oilers back in February for Purcell.
I'm thinking of going into the season with Kreider as my 3rd line LW and PK. He's got size and speed but he didn't "wow" me offensively. I want to try Jensen at 2nd LW and PP. I'll probably rotate them. Like the idea of Kreider with Tierny and Klingberg though.

I drafted this kid too. I got him in the 5th round, 121st overall. Pretty close to your pick.batdad wrote: 4th 120th overall-Paul Young 6 1 205 RW/LW Phillips-Andover, committed to New England Nor'Easters for this season-Mixed as 3rd line, 4th line...poor man's Ryan Reeves, yet is called a flashy forward in reports. Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
Rourke Chartier? IRL that kid is good. Real good.
Did you see my point about my messed up trade? Got a 3rd for 2018 from Colorado, thought it was 2017....punish me. LOL
I am considering moving Conacher as well, to give Hunter Shinkaruk some more time. With Nelson and Bartschi on the left side not much room for him to do his thing there, as he will only get third line time, and no PP time. Going to see how he does though. And with my rotation he may get more time. Depends how he plays.
Tierney--I had him for a bit in the test game I did. He sucked for me. Was Linden Vey basically, except no goals in streaks.
yeah Paul Young interests me a bit. We shall see.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
I have Tierney and he is disappointing, i gave him 8 games in the middle of season 1 and 10 games now at the start of season 2 but he can barely stay over 6 AvR
He lights up the AHL though so i don't know, maybe he just needs more ice time, but i can't give him more then 3C ice-time without PP.
In other news, Kylington is AMAZING. He plays about 20min per game and he has 6 assists, +1 and 7.30 AvR after 10 games

So, I went with the Canadiens deal. Clicked confirm on the 18th but it hasn´t gone through yet and I am now at the draft. What to do?

Yup. That's the one. In game he doesn't look that great. (and his picture looks like he's stoned)batdad wrote:Rourke Chartier? IRL that kid is good. Real good.

We can knock off your bonus points for that season, I guess, but that seems a little harsh.

It doesn't involve picks and the deal is in place (with screenshot). You're okay.Manimal wrote:So, I went with the Canadiens deal. Clicked confirm on the 18th but it hasn´t gone through yet and I am now at the draft. What to do?

Okay, thanks Bruins. Yeah it is not like a third in 2018 is going to make much of a difference, if anything my screw up hurt me more than helped me.

Markström got injured a few days so i brought up Demko to play 2 games, saved 76/78 shots and won me 2 games with 9.50 AvR

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
That sounds about right. Peter from what I have seen you are leaving good players too long in the minors. Jensen in season 1, and Demko season 2. I would get those guys up. They will be way better than what you have and they are ready, and it will not hurt them.
Now...B72 let me know what happens with Young. His deal with New England U died on the vine as the board did not like it. So I am signing him and playing him in either ECHL or AHl.

Re: Challenge #37 Discussion - Blowing Up The Canucks!
You might be right, as i said about Jensen though i just wanted to see how the older guys did so i could make an accurate decision about their future with the team, i knew beforehand that i wouldn't do well in season one.
As for Demko it's mostly just about the fact that i have very bad depth in goal and Eriksson needs to go through waivers and i just cant risk it right now, if he gets picked up on waivers i have no goalie in AHL and i want Utica to do well
In general though i usually take it slow with the kids, i did however go with Kylington this season and that's working out
Some of Virtanen, Shinkaruk, McCann, Horvat, Fuchs, Lindgren and Wikstrand are ready aswell but i don't have roster spots for them right now. I will probably trade Conacher after this season though so that frees up one top-6 spot on the wing. Will probably be atleast one spot in the 3rd line up for grabs aswell. Atleast one of Weber and Sanguinetti will be traded aswell so i can fit Lindgren in there.

He ended up committing to Adam Oates' alma mater, RPI. He's signed on with them for 2 years in my game.batdad wrote: Now...B72 let me know what happens with Young. His deal with New England U died on the vine as the board did not like it. So I am signing him and playing him in either ECHL or AHl.

I really wish i could send Puljujärvi to Juniors, i really don't know why i can't
He's doing OK in AHL but he would tear CHL up

Strange. Traded Sbisa and Fucale to Dallas for Travis Sanheim. The put Sbisa on waivers and released Fucale.

Well, he was drafted in the 2015 CHL draft so i think it's a bug but i'm not sure since i'm not really familiar with how the CHL rights work.jhcjobpb wrote:Is that a bug or something?!Peter_Doherty wrote:I really wish i could send Puljujärvi to Juniors

Together? That's not allowed. I'm guessing you're at a point where Sbisa is a tradeable veteran and Fucale is your one non-veteran trade from the season? You can package multiple veterans but you can't package veterans with your one non-veteran.stone169 wrote:Strange. Traded Sbisa and Fucale to Dallas for Travis Sanheim. Think he's so far that Fucale is 25 and the limit is 25.bruins72 wrote:Together? That's not allowed. I'm in season 5. 2019-2020. My understanding the veteran age would be 24 at this point. Although Fucale will be turning 25 in May. If I screwed up, let me know and I fix it in accordance with whatever you deem appropriate.bruins72 wrote:Together? That's not allowed. By the way, I am taking my time now and have only been blown out once and my PK has gotten much better.

Bjugstad and Bonino are so frustrating, both are super inconsistent, drives me nuts
