Fantasy Draft Challenge: Chat Thread

Post by Minstrel »

Okay, first off those of you that have participated in an EHM 2005 Challenge don't need to message me to gain entry, the rules are the same as for the 05 Challenges, but do read the setup info to make sure you do your draft with the correct options enabled!

Then of course we encourage you to tell us about your team. I'm requesting people before exiting their drafts screenshot their first two pages of their 'My Team' dispaly so people can see who you chose in your draft. Feel free to post those here and give us some info behind why you made the picks you did. Tell us what team you've chosen of course as this is the first and only Challenge that people may be GM of different teams but still competing in the same Challenge.

Has anyone heard anything on when the new patch is coming out? From what I've read, it sounds like there should be several database changes. If it's coming soon, wouldn't it be better to wait for the patch?

I'm about to start this thing.

Hopefully I'm not 40 million over the cap this time.

All those old guys at the top were too hard to pass up. :-(

I get through the whole draft and forget to take pictures of the my team screen.

I really like this team too ](*,)

Is there a way I can prove I drafted or do I have to go and do it over again?

Yeah there's a way you can do it; read the directions  But I'll let you out of it since I know you have these kind of problems :-p

You'll need to post screenies of the overall game-wide transactions list showing enough teams so that we can tell that everyone added players on the same date; otherwise it would be too easy for people to do a config for their ultimate draft team while leaving everyone else in the league the same.

But people, don't be an InStaaled; take your screenshots 8-)

Bruins72 the point here is that a database change effects a fantasy draft league much much less than a fixed team of a limited number of players. The update is supposed to be ready within a few weeks but whenever we do or don't wait for an update there's issues so that's why we've decided to go with this Challenge now.

Do we check the "snaking draft" box, or can we have the first pick in each round?

I've done the draft, but the language was set to swedish. I hope it doesn't matter. Or I can translate the words for you. :-p

Poor little girls need to have first pick to win at EHM. :-p

I shuffled and just picked where it landed which just happened to be 11th.

I cared more about the snake order then the first pick, but whatever. Also, since when do you win at EHM at all? :-k

That's not the point here.

I did a snake draft since it was the most fair to every team and it would spread the talent around more evenly.

Unless you give yourself a top 5 pick and want to draft a superteam then there is no point in taking snake draft off.

Even with snakedraft off, you wouldn't have a 'superteam.'

I'll be doing my draft tommorow hopefully, and just to prove I have big cajones I shall pick 30th.

For the record, 'Snaking Draft' is the default so I'd have only mentioned it if I wanted people to NOT use that option...

Okay, I'm not sure if I drafted well or not but I'll ante up and join this challenge. I wasn't sure if we were supposed to provide screenshots of the first two pages of our team from the draft or the first two pages of the draft itself, so I'll post both.

Wow, that wasn't too good. After I exited the draft I found that I was about $1.5M over the cap so I had to trade my 2nd line center (Chris Drury) for a less expensive and less talented one (Michal Handzus). Oh well!

My fantasy drafted Montreal. Something doesn´t change, Koivu is still wearing C :-D

montreal draft - page 1
montreal draft - page 2
whole draft - page 1
whole draft - page 2

Pretty satisfied for my draft effort. Still have contracts to negotiate with Gionta, Gleason and Kukkonen... Cap´s at 38 mil...
