If this was not SI I would not have purchased. My previous two early access purchases was not very fulfilling: Asseto Corsa and FHM.

New guys who do not know SI and their track record could be put off by the title, I agree.

And I don't think 25k is bad for early access title at all, especially for very niche genre like EHM:EA is, I'd imagine full game could sell 200-300k with a well targeted marketing campaign, especially in north america, scandinavia, czech, slovakia etc hockey countries.

20k in sales at 15.00 is good.

They net around 10 bucks, so they've made around 200k off the game, which had no marketing mostly and is early access.

I'm happy with it and I'm sure SI is too.

The Humble Bundle store has EHM:EA on sale for just $10.04. It's on sale for about another day and a half. If anyone hasn't jumped on it yet, now is the time!

It's also on sale on Steam. Personally I don't buy early access titles unless they're cheaper than final product, have a good demo and are clearly worth their asking price at the time of purchase. Still waiting for multiplayer on EHM.

Given how far EHM:EA has advanced over EHM 2007, even being an early access product it's miles ahead of the last "real version".

The game is good enough SI could remove the EA title should they want. And maybe they should as it could put off potential sales as some people are not aware that SI are not like other companies who have put out EA products previously.

On sale at Steam for 33% off for the next 42 hours. If there is going to be a burst of new users, that will likely lead to them.

I'm safe! HaHa
I haven't played "video games" of any sort in well over a decade.
EHM's simulation is really the only game I play (and even then, I spend most of my time researching! HaHa)
OK...turns out I wasn't safe :-D

Today I picked up Banished, Cities:Skyline and Microsoft Flight Simulator for my wife + Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Catan for myself!
Not sure I'll play them much (still spend almost all of my freetime researching/editing for EHM), but I bought them! HaHa

With the Euro Truck Simulator 2 I'm hoping to get a taste of travelling abroad without actually going anywhere HaHa
I bought Catan as my wife plays the tabletop version with her siblings, and maybe someday if I join them I'll know how to play...
And I've already got a couple Wishlist items! HaHa (Football Mogul and the Kerbal Space Program)...and the three games my wife got all interest me too!

I have nothing. And I will have nothing for quite some time. However, I got steam for one game prior to EHM EA. That was Monkey Island. I remember playing it when I was 19 and thought I would give it another go. It was silly and fun.

I bought the game for 15 when it first came out, it was an impulse buy. The game's been on sale a few times, I think the lowest it got to was like 10 bucks or something. It's just a niche game, I hope it finds broader appeal.

I did buy The Long Dark, which is awesome, and castle crashers along with both max payne's and Outlast...

playing mostly the long dark.

Yeah, I think I remember seeing EHM:EA down to $10 on the summer sale. I wonder if the game will generate more interest in the fall when the new NHL season is gearing up. They'd be smart to put it on sale then. Still, $15 is a bargain for a game like this. I was fully expecting to pay $35 or whatever it was that we payed for EHM:2007 when it came out. I'm thinking that them not going after the licenses is a smart cost cutting move.

The Long Dark is great, isn't it? I'm really enjoying that one. My biggest problem seems to be the difficulty gap between the easy mode and the regular mode. Easy is too easy while the regular is pretty hard. I can't wait until they finally add the Story Mode though.

add me on steam brother.

Yeah I tried out of the Pilgrim mode. I survived like 8 days, was fairly easy. I fell off a cliff by accident, and died. annoying.

I've only played a 10th of my actual playingtime of EHM:EA online on steam. Mostly playing offline. By the way my Steam name is "danmak27." Should have called myself the same here. Why I didn't I really don't know.
Guess I just didn't think about it at the time. But I try to help people on Steam as much as i can when they complain about this and that.. :-D I want this game to succeed... [-o<

I anticipate that in the fall, I would expect the new season data to be entered. At that point I would see sales boost and marketing to gear up. Still they have sold 25k copies on Steam around the time when the season was ending so that's encouraging. I really would like to see a full fledged game with some new additions.

Almost 24.000
Nice to see approx 8,000 more copies over the past 9 months (i.e. since Filip's post above). We're now at approx 32,500 copies (+/- 4,000): http://steamspy.com/app/301120

That is nice to see, and a good archievement, considering the amount of advertising they have done (none).

Games uninstalled, I'd assume.
Also, this data is I think reliable at a "reasonable level", shouldn't be taken as 100% accurate (even if I think they are accurate enough).

Refunds.
But it's probably not actually decreasing, SteamSpy doesn't have access to the actual sales totals as Valve doesn't share that.
What it's actually doing is constantly scanning a random sample of public Steam profiles for the listed games. It samples around ~150,000 profiles a day, and extrapolates from that the likely number of owned copies across the entire Steam user base. The less popular the game the greater the margin of error and likelihood that SteamSpy is off. While developers have commented in the past that SteamSpy is extremely accurate, only Valve and SI know the exact sales totals.
SteamSpy itself says the margin of error for EHM is +/- 4300 copies, so it makes sense that from day to day the listed total is going to vary a bit.

So they're dealing more with predictive algortihm and less with hard numbers. That makes sense. Spikes could be higher than reality, and low almost always lower than the reality.
