Games Accrued stat

I'd always assumed this was games played, but I've got a couple players who have more games accrued than played this season. Can anyone explain this experience stat or is this just a bug?
I believe accruing seasons begins to affect waiver eligibility? So if this stat isn't tracking right that would be an issue!
