Is it possible to create a player?

Post by labelle_kyle »

My son wants to know if I can put him into the game with his face. I have the 7.3 Vanilla roster, is this even possible?

Yes you can! You can use the EHM 2007 Pre-Game Editor to edit the v7.3 database. Then, once you're done, import the rosters back into EHM:EA.

... and then, if by "with his face" you mean with a photo of him, name the photo firstname_lastname_DD_MM_YYYY -- last part being the date of birth of your son's player in the game. Place the photo into the folder data/pictures/players. You may need to adjust the size. Can't recall what the maximum size was for pictures. I'm sure someone will know... :-k

I'm pretty sure it's 185x200 pixels

Player face images should be in PNG format and 157px wide x 200px tall. If the head takes up the full 200px then it can look a bit cramped in-game. Most packs I have seen created by users leave the top 4px of the image blank/transparent so that the top of head isn't too close to other elements on the screen.

Didn't want create new topic.

So if I edit the database to create my own player and import it, will my previously started games will have the same players and other stuff (It won't be impacted by importing new database)?

Yes, your previously started games won't change/will have the same players and other stuff, and your previously saved games won't be affected by importing a new database

Thanks

EDIT: One more question.

Would it be possible to insert new players into already started savegame? For example I create few players, start new game, sim trough first season and then add few more players going into second season. Would it be possible?

Not exactly. You would either have to rename some of the already existing players with EHM Assistant, or make the players you want to add in the second season 13 years old in the database, thus making them spawn only after the first season.

But to do that they have to be 13 years old? Can't be like 16 or 17?

No, if you want them to appear for the second season.

I thought you can't rename players in a save game

Are there any plans to make player names editable? Because occasionally the game generates a weird one.
