Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Currently in my third season with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. If anyone follows that league, they will know how that organization has been the past couple of years so I thought I would revamp the entire program and team.
First season - finished 13th.
Second season - finished 5th.
Current record is 36-14-3 good enough for 4th place currently.
Looking to go for it all next season as I have 3 first round picks in this years draft and a lot of good prospects and a solid core for next season.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Just about to start the third season with my Red Wings.
1st season - eliminated in the second round
2nd season - devastating final-loss against the Oilers.
Abdelkader has won Player of the year on my team both season but we lost him to the sabres through free agency.......have had a really tough time signing free agents so im afraid its rebuilding time this season, we have got a couple of really nice 1st round choices so far.
Will be looking to make som trades before the season starts but as it looks now the starting lineup looks like this;
Tatar-Zetterberg-Nyquist
Nelson-Sheahan-Mantha
Svechnikov-Datsyuk-Jurco
Matthias-Glendening-Pulkkinen
Smith-Green
Kronwall-DeKeyser
Marchenko-Sproul
Howard-Mrazek
My first priority is probably a winger, if I can find a decent one i will be sendning Svechnikov back to the juniors for one more year. One thing that Im afraid of is that Datsyuk is going to retire just before the season starts.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
I have just finished my second season with Blue Jackets (i posted a few pages ago the summary of my first season), and i won the Stanley Cup again. Two years, two titles!! I don` know if the game was that easy or if somehow i managed to build some good tactics mixed with some good lines. I have made a few trades, but the most players have been there since the beggining. I managed to win despite having a very bad PP and not an excellent PK; and i also was one the worst team regarding shorhanded goals ( i think i was the team with the most goals conceded shortandedly)!! I was now thinking of beggining another career with another team to see if i was able to have the same success. Any ideas about a team with a lot of youngsters to begin with??
Just for curiosity, my lines in the second season:
Wolski - Dubinsky - Atkinson
Hartnell - Anisimov - Foligno
Jenner - Johansen - Palmieri
Wennberg - Karlsson - Rieder
Johnson - Lundin
Murray - Savard
Scandella - Goloubef
Bobrovsky - Forsberg

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Just finished my first season with the Detroit Red Wings and I somehow won the cup against the Chicago Blackhawks in six games. Finished 5th in the East with 102 points and had a close call against the Caps, winning in seven (insert the Capitals terrible record in game sevens). Currently looking for a top four D-man after failing to sign Mike Green onto my team.
Lines right now:
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Nyquist
Franzen-Sheahan-Tatar
Jurco-Helm-Pulkinnen
Abdelkader-Glendening-Miller
Eaves-Miele
Quincey-Kronwall
Kindl-DeKeyser
Ouellet-Smith
Howard
Mrazek

Just started my 8th season with the Leafs after finally winning a Stanley Cup. Hoping to repeat! Got a lot of young talent and good contract balance across the team... Just started the season 9-0-1.

I haven't played this game for quiet a while. I started now a game in switzerland with the goal to lead Lugano to thier first Play-Off serie win(and more) since they were Swiss Champs in the Season 2005-2006 and bring them thier 8th Swiss Champion titel.
It started really well with 5 wins in my first 6 games. But don't know how big of an achivment a championship with this team would be. My first impression is that Brunner, with his NHL attributs, is really overpowered in the NLA. And everybody who followed the NLA last season knows how good and dangerous Linus Klasen and Fredrik Petterson can be. In addition you have Ilari Filppula and Brett McLean, to build 2 dominating lines, something Lugano never realy had in real life.

They are not meant to be used with the 2006 start year. I would recommend downloading UUDB rosters.winti26 wrote:I downloaded today the newest tbl roster.

2022/23 - The Comeback Predators!
Another fine season, coming pretty close to winning the President's again. But this time Tampa Bay ran away with it in the end, with us finishing 2nd. The playoffs saw us come back from 1-3 down in both the 1st and 2nd rounds against LA Kings and Minnesota. In the 3rd round we stormed into a 3-1 lead against Calgary but they tied it up before we could book our place in the Stanley Cup final! There we faced number 1...Tampa Bay. We won both games at their house, then loosing both in our building. Weird series. After that though it became a goalie matchup between Saros and Bishop. Saros came out on top, stopping everything in game 6 which saw us clinch the title for a 2nd year running with a 1-0 win in overtime! So this makes it 2 President's Trophy and 3 Stanley Cups in last 6 years.
Watson - Toews - Forsberg
Huberdeau - Turris - Hartman
Mäenalanen - Pirri - Smith-Pelly
Girgensons/Grimaldi - Samuelsson - Kiviranta
Josi - Jones
Weber - Ekblad
Chabot/Collins - Ellis
Saros/Lehto
After this year we say goodbye to Toews and Turris. Toews is getting payed at Toronto now, upping his salary nearly 2M! Could never afford holding on to him with us constantly having cap problems. Having him gone ease some of that pressure. A new era is coming and it will be very interesting to see if we can keep up with a few new signings and youthfull players coming up next year.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Stupid question, any way to change scoring levels? On full sim I get maybe 1 PPG player a season, on quick sim maybe 2-3 with less depth scoring by far. Across all saves, seems the same. Would like some more scoring (don't talk to me about realism or how the NHL is now).
Also, my first line scores lots, and then I get maybe 30 points from my 2nd line, and so on, huge drop off. Regardless of talent, and mixing up my tactics/letting my coach run it... Can't honestly be 100% tactics related and I don't care to set them myself after my attempts.
On another note, I managed 4 seasons of dead last with NJ. Excellent. >.>

I'm playing as the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is my first game and the learning curve has been steep
1 Season: Won the Stanley
(With a mindset on rebuilding starting with the draft day this was a huge surprise and then decided to not make a huge rebuild)
2 Season: 2nd round exit against Tampa(almost the same team only now I use the slapshot tactics)
3 Season: 1 round exit against New Jersey(some players are shipped out )
4 Season: 2nd round exit against Tampa
So after destroying prospects potential and learning to trade the 2018/19 season Maple Leafs is going in to the playoffs looking like this
Goalies
1:J,Bernier
2:Z,Mcintyre
Forwards
JVR-J,Schwarts-P,kessel

Okay, i think i´m done in Liiga, next stop canucks when position opens
What i wanted to test is, how these club reps work on promotion/relegation leagues (in ehm2007 had to save-edit them constantly, or else that broke the game)
They work. test successful, the game is too easy tho...https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=8 ... hoto%2cjpg
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=8 ... hoto%2cjpg
well...what makes this game so easy? I think one reason is the contracts, players don´t demand core or key positions (if they do, i give them depth anyway and they´re fine with it)

I was starting as unemployed and got work on the 29th of April as the GM for the Lithuanian team. I am playing wit randomized info and hidden atts, only hiring Lithuanian staff and not coaching myself. This will get ugly!
But boy is it boring to just sim waiting for something to happen.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
7 of my last 9 regular season games ended in either overtime or a shootout and I've never been so frustrated at this game.
Every single goal my team scored was matched by the opposition within a couple of minutes. It didn't matter which goalie I put in they both played horribly, and my offense stalled so badly that Gustav Nyquist lost the goal scoring title during the last game of the season and Jack Eichel was passed in assists.
It's not even like I was playing tough competition. The best team I played during this run was 8th in the East. I had trouble beating the Devils (15th in the East), the Canucks (11th in the West), and the Red Wings (13th in the East).
If these shenanigans continue in round 1 of the playoffs I might tear my head off.

The Columbus Blue Jackets just swept the Minnesota Wild to bring home their 5th straight Stanley Cup. Sergei Bobrovsky was seemingly invincible in net, posting a .955 sv% and a 1.22 GAA. Gustav Nyquist led both the regular season and the playoffs in points, though he wasn't the only prolific scorer on the team. Nyquist, along with Boone Jenner, Auston Matthews, Andreas Johnson, and Jack Eichel all scored over a point per game during both the regular season and playoffs. This successful season resulted in a flood of trophies to the team. Gustav Nyquist won the Art Ross and Hart trophies. Sergei Bobrovsky took home both the Conn Smythe and Vezina trophies, Vanya Lodnia won the Calder trophy, and Kris Letang won the Norris trophy. The team as a whole won the Prince of Wales trophy, the President's trophy, and of course the Stanley Cup.
The memo going into the offseason was "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", so the team looked to maintain their roster rather than make a bunch of moves. They signed Swede Kristoffer Backman from Farjestad BK. Backman is 28 years old and has been flying under the radar in Sweden. He was never drafted by an NHL team despite having elite all star talents. It'll be exciting to see what he brings to the table. The Blue Jackets also signed Nikita Zadorov and Frederik Gauthier to one year deals. Zadorov is a hard hitting defensive defenseman that will likely take a role as the 7th blueliner, while Gauthier will add depth to the forward ranks.
In: Zadorov, Gauthier, Backman
Out: Girardi, Savard
There was a rumor circulating that the Blue Jackets tried to bring future Hall of Famer Rick Nash back to Columbus, but the deal never materialized as Nash resigned with the New York Rangers.
The Jackets will start the 2022-2023 season ready to take that 6th Stanley Cup to their trophy case.
Jenner - Eichel - Matthews
Johnson - Johansen - Nyquist
Backman - Wennberg - Lodnia
Duclair - Sundstrom - Bjorkstrand
Gauthier - Smith-Pelly
Murray - Letang
Gavalda - Honka
Gardiner - Green
Zadorov
Bobrovsky
Vasilevsky
UPDATE: Before the regular season started I traded Devante Smith-Pelly along with a mediocre prospect and a late first round pick for a potential 1st line power forward, and my board was furious with me?!? Smith-Pelly had 12 points this year with a 6.63 rating. The prospect won't amount to anything, and the first will likely be 25-30th overall. I don't understand why it's not a good trade for my team.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Im in season 2025-26. I started off with the Blackhawks. But, I got bored with them because they were already good. I wanted more of a challenge. So i applied for the Ottawa Senators job. I got it. Played with that franchise for 9 or 10 seasons. I got to the Stanley Cup finals my last season. But got swept by Edmonton. Not sure why. My team was stacked. Then i lost a lot during FA, and I couldn't for the life of me get anyone to sign with me. My payroll was down around 50 mil and getting fined every week for being below the salary floor. So I moved over to the Wild who had the worst record in the league, and I traded Ryan Suter away for 2 picks. A 1st and 3rd, seems like it wouldn't be enough, but he was 39 at that point. In my 2nd season at the helm I've signed a couple players. Dylan Strome was my big signing. My record is 22-16-5 so far. So all in all its not so bad. I like challenges, the wild are challenged for sure

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
I am the Vienna Capitals and Team Austria. I won the league 4 years in a row as Vienna but can not seem to get a job anywhere else, not even the Austrian league. As for Team Austria, we have absolutely demolished the competition in the Euro Hockey Challenge but for some reason the Austrian Eishockey Federation get very disappointed with me by the time of the World Championships. This happened for the second time now. Last time it happened it we played Canada first game and lost 3-2 in overtime and I got fired the next day. I am playing Canada for the first game again and we lost 3-1 in regulation and I got fired again. I do not understand how to keep the board from being disappointed in me. They are worse than my parents.
EDIT: They fired me so I applied for the job and they hired me so quickly that I get to GM the last two games of the tournament.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
I'm noticing this as well. The .9 patch brought me a lot (A LOT) of OTs and SOs. It seems that no close game ends in the regular time....and was like this all across the league. So far, the new patch has made me have some hope as no SO or OT games so farhockey17jp wrote:7 of my last 9 regular season games ended in either overtime or a shootout and I've never been so frustrated at this game.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Finally won what I think is my first Stanley Cup in any EHM game to the best of my memory!
Strangely enough, my Penguins won their first cup in 2009. The group that did it:
Naslund-Crosby-Malkin
Leino-Marleau-Oulett
Malone-Staal-Perron
Talbot-Peca-Dupuis
Whitney-Letang
Schultz-Orpik
Ledba-Goligoski
Fleury
Hillier
Unformuntaly, I angered half my team by forgetting to click PRAISE ALWAYS (just ignoring the article made half my team mad I didn't praise Malkin's form with he had 7-7-8-7-7....), and RFA's aren't working in this save, so hopefully they all calm down in time ot resign (Crosby wants traded from this one lack of praise of Geno...). Salaraies will get tough in the next season, as Malkin goes from entry level to 7 mil per (44 mil cap), but I think the Malone era is coming to an end to free up space for some up and comers to stay. Just feels SOOOOO good to finally win, even if it was a crazy stacked team.
