We will first make a final release of 2014-15 rosters.
With the game not starting in 2015, there is no rush yet for 15-16 rosters

What Iv'e said before is all have to do is edit Schedule to delete 2014-15 Games if we can when final 2014-15 comes out hope soon. I have one coming out but no Stats for 2014-15,might not have all Personal changes,Afflications changes, all Draft Picks from 2015 on Teams. Chicago's is Top Prospects 2015 Team.

There is currently no ability to edit the schedule, and nobody's working on it, so the answer to "if we can" is "we can't"MGSPORTS wrote:What Iv'e said before is all have to do is edit Schedule to delete 2014-15 Games if we can

Re: EHM EA - 2015-2016 roster update
Just to clarify: We will not be releasing a 2015/16 roster update until the beginning of the 2015/16 season and no earlier. How soon we release it after the start of the season depends entirely on how many researchers contribute to the DB and how long it takes them to get their work done. As I think most/all users know, we all do this in our spare time in between our jobs/studies and living our lives - so it's hard to say when a DB will be released. It's just a case of it'll be released as soon as we're happy that it is sufficiently up to date and it has undergone some basic testing to check for crashes, etc. If you take a look at the Readme file which accompanies the TBL Rosters you'll see there's a changelist which shows when our roster updates have been released over the past 4 or 5 years (in fact we have been running roster updates for roughly 8 years now).
Frankly I have no idea what MGSports is referring to. We do not have the means to edit schedules, etc and I'm not sure how this would have a bearing on us being in a position to release the next roster update (as said above, it depends entirely on the number of volunteers that help and how quickly we all get things done).
I'm going to lock this thread because I think we've explained as far as we can what the position is with release dates - and I think the red box at the top of the forum summarises it pretty well too.

Roster Updates
I was just wondering if there is a schedule on the TBL roster updates or how often they are updated roughly as I like to play this game but I've got zero interest in playing with randomly generated names and as changes occur in this off-season I find too much is missing to start new seasons without the up-to-date rosters. I have tried updating it myself but the process is daunting and extremely time consuming for someone to undertake if there's an update coming right around the corner or otherwise just in general. Will I have to wait until christmas to play with an updated roster that starts the season in October 2015, and find that it too is out of date by that time?
I'm really trying not to sound demanding but as someone new to this game title and the previous titles I really was expecting to see these rosters shipped with the game. When I found the entire game full of randomly generated names I was quite disappointed, the fun for me comes from playing out a fantasy NHL GM, using up to date rosters. Is it safe to expect at least one start of season update each year here?

Re: Roster Updates
No, there is most definitely not a schedule! HaHaspumantii wrote:I was just wondering if there is a schedule on the TBL roster updates or how often they are updated roughly
It's 100% volunteer work, and the only way to be 100% sure to reduce the time is to help out

But while there's not a schedule, TBL databases have been put out yearly (and then updated) for quite awhile, so you can look at the history of the rosters to get an idea of release dates/how often http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=77
Really? For an early access game, at a price way below half of a typical/similar game?spumantii wrote:I'm really trying not to sound demanding but as someone new to this game title and the previous titles I really was expecting to see these rosters shipped with the game.
Did you read the SI explanation about not putting all the money into obtaining licensing immediately? http://community.sigames.com/showthread ... rly-Access
And by what you're describing in terms of updated rosters, you're not looking for SI to just get the licensing but you want ongoing roster updates too?
Maybe it's just me, but I'm an avid EHM editor and I've been working on a "dead game" for 5 years and I'm just so happy it's been resurrected, and I just want the gameplay bugs/issues fixed, and then AI and editability improvements, and then UI improvements, and then wish list items, and then pay for licensing/researchers (just my "priorities" view; also based on it seems to be a niche game and pretty much only Riz working on it, so I'm trying to be reasonable/realistic with my expectations/hopes HaHa)
Hmmm....I suspect you'll be satisfiedspumantii wrote: Is it safe to expect at least one start of season update each year here?

I just realized that maybe you don't understand you're not stuck with random generations...spumantii wrote: When I found the entire game full of randomly generated names I was quite disappointed, the fun for me comes from playing out a fantasy NHL GM, using up to date rosters.
The most recent database is up-to-date worldwide as of March 2015 (it was released in July) http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... hp?t=14591
You import the database into EHM:EA http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... nto_EHM:EA
Often this is a helpful thread too (where to put the EHM07 database you download from this website/TBL so you can import it http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... ion_Folder
And then there's a TON of "add-ons" like team/league logos, ice logos, player and background pictures and more http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=75
Here's the wiki for what's available/where it goes http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... rly_Access
You will soon be that NHL GM that you want to be!

P.S. Currently the game starts in 2014, 2015 is not an option yet, but will be around the start of the upcoming NHL season

Re: Roster Updates
Thanks for the info, I know that what I asked could sound demanding. I know it's an early access game, but for argument's sake it's a shell without the 'real names' from your rosters included, like a car without an engine, though I mean no offense the TBL rosters are for me the heart of the experience.
I wasn't sure how many people there were working on this, I currently use the TBL rosters from 2014, and I've made a few play-throughs as the Canucks, but as you probably know some significant changes were made- and my obsessive compulsion won't let me stop at having simply made the Canucks changes, and then how far down the rabbit hole do you go? I gave rights to about 2.5 rounds of the 2015 draft before I lost my nerve to continue... I resigned to wait for the next TBL roster, having put the game aside since I think I've played 2014 about 8 times with various and some hilarious outcomes.
Just as a side note I made the finals twice both against the Lightning, having had an equal number of playoff misses, the team would either storm out of the gates playing .750 hockey and stay there all year long or play at around .500 and sink as the season wore on. I observed the regular season success seemed to be heavily dependent on line tactics though maybe I'm wrong. Henrik Sedin never managed to get past 72 points although his linemates were scoring explosively. Ryan Miller has injuries in about half of my play throughs. I'll admit I haven't given it another run since player roles were added and I bet that would make a big difference. I could never figure out if or how practices worked, but I understand it's not a finished feature.

Re: Roster Updates
Also, no offense, but if you're so obsessed with everything being in the right place, then maybe this is not your type of a game. Things will get all messed up, and that's the whole point. One Sedin in LA, another goes to New York, Ovechkin moves to Detroit, Crosby wants to play in Toronto, St. Louis finally signs with St. Louis... There's no stopping it!
There's quite a large crew of volunteers working on the rosters and regular updates do appear, although not aiming at any specific deadlines. As for the imperfections of the game: it's still in Early Access, and a lot has changed since the first version. We're getting there, slowly, but surely.

Re: Roster Updates
I think you misunderstood me- I'm not obsessed with KEEPING things in the right place, I just want to START with them in the right place. I will make my own changes to that, because this is a simulation, and as a simulation junkie I prefer to start with reality and go from there. Why on earth would I (or you) go through the trouble of making such an intricate setup if you don't think players should want things to be 'in the right place'? That's ironic as hell.
Did you think it was a good idea to suggest this game isn't for me, after I stated I've played through the current rosters 8 times as a simulation enthusiast? who do you think this game is intended to be for, the casual gamer? I didn't mean to offend you but it sounds a bit like your corn flakes have pee in them. I'm not insulting your game indeed I would not have come this far if I thought this game 'wasn't for me' but perhaps you're right after all.

Re: Roster Updates
I actually thought it was you with the negativity (and now being gross)
You are the one who said you had to play with random players (a complete falsehood), and suggested you'd have to wait until Christmas for updated rosters (another complete falsehood), and with no knowledge of the history of the game/development think it'd be good to spend money on licensing/researchers (another falsehood...you do realize they did what you suggest last time and the result was the game ceased development 6 months after release as it determined to be financially not viable?)
I don't understand your negativity and need to push your view given your concern is completely addressed by the volunteers here at TBL (i.e. no need for what you're talking about, the concerns you noted don't actually exist)

Re: New Roster update??
SI updating start date, after it comes out TBL will release rosters. Exactly when depends on number of volunteers researching and the ability TBL volunteers have (time) to get things in the 2015-16 rosters done correctly.
