TBL Rosters v8.0 2015/16 Release Date
This is just a heads up to let everyone know that the first roster update of 2015/16 will be released around the end of this month (i.e. October). We're now approaching the stage where the rosters are ready for release; we just have some final attribute updating work to do for the NHL and some final transactions to implement. We had hoped to release the update sooner but we have been struggling with low numbers of researchers to help with the work.
The update will not feature any updated player career history as this work is taking longer than hoped. However, it should follow in a v8.1 update reasonably soon after the v8.0 release.

Just wondering if the v8.0 rosters will also be compatible with EHM 2007. If not, which is the latest roster update that will work with 2007?

Re: TBL Rosters v8.0 2015/16 Release Date
I'm pretty sure all the rosters are in 2007 format since they need to be imported into EHM Early Access, so you should have no problem using them with EHM 2007. You might need the CSD Patch though.Bruins FC wrote:Just wondering if the v8.0 rosters will also be compatible with EHM 2007. If not, which is the latest roster update that will work with 2007?

No I'm afraid they're not compatible with EHM 2007. Although they're in EHM 2007 format, various teams and leagues have been renamed which will cause errors in EHM 2007. With some work, they could be made compatible - but this would be down to you as we simply don't have the resources to maintain two versions.

i am with the rest of you guys in saying i wanted this roster yesterday but i guess i don't get what i want.
asking consistently (even if it is different people) or saying how much you need it is only going to annoy the mods/admins/basic members at worst or archive nothing at best.
patients is really the only way to go here
o and knock the pa of every Ottawa prospect up by 10-20 plz, ty.

Re: TBL Rosters v8.0 2015/16 Release Date
The last time I (overtly respectfully) asked when to expect this (sometime in August) I was confronted with snorts and told something along the lines of 'maybe this game isn't meant for you' when I admitted what most people are thinking which is the reason I bought and wait to play this game was to sim from up-to date NHL rosters. I then saw that there was a lack of volunteers helping make that happen. Patience is good and nice and well deserved until the other party stops being courteous, then the gloves come off.
It would seem ironic that rather than ask an interested party to volunteer I was given a cold shoulder and the topic was locked as even though I was especially clear I was happy with the game, which inspired my interest in the up-to date rosters, some were only capable of seeing my message as criticism. I was told I should be able to have fun without them by principle because 'everything changes every year anyway'. If a lack of volunteers is the issue there are better ways to get people than alienating paying customers on your forum. If I was being critical I could have listed a number of things I didn't mention, like the absolutely god-awful UI.
The game wasn't free, I paid via steam thinking there was a team at work here- not a bunch of volunteers, despite the fact that I would have volunteered just to be able to play it properly again. You're making money by selling this game, presumably, mostly to players who care about the NHL, not as much the minutae of some backwater Euro League, so maybe priorities should be set where they would provide you with more customers and or interest from existing customers. If getting more customers means keeping the game up to date then hire some people. If you have the year 2015 and the NHL rosters up-to-date, but you're missing some details from the dunderwhistle midget league in northern Scotland for example... Then you've got priorities all mixed up, assuming you want to stay in business. As great as 2014 was I can't play through it another time, so I'll keep this thing shelved and maybe forget about it

Re: TBL Rosters v8.0 2015/16 Release Date
have you ever tried playing one of those backwater Euro Leagues? i play a game with a team in the Latvian league and it was tons of fun. trying to build a stable team with good players while also have to worry about guys leaving to other leagues or guys retiring (cause a lot of you bets players are old ex nhlers). it brings a different feel then the nhl games where draft and develop is so important but in the backwater Euro Leagues you really need to be able to manage your money as a bad contract hurts a lot and you wont have any young cost controlled players to help you fix mistakes cap/budget wisespumantii wrote:The last time I (overtly respectfully) asked when to expect this (sometime in August) I was confronted with snorts and told something along the lines of 'maybe this game isn't meant for you' when I admitted what most people are thinking which is the reason I bought and wait to play this game was to sim from up-to date NHL rosters. also you can go play a Euro league in the 2014 game because you don't know any of the players anyways so it will make no difference
on another note i also asked when a post draft roster would be coming out (i asked a week after the draft) and was nicely told that the first post draft roster comes out October or November depending on how quickly they can get the new roster ready. maybe you did not ask a respectfully as you thought or maybe the mod/admin responding to you was having a bad day.

You have one thing very wrong which makes almost all your points wrong aswell. The people working on this updated database on this site _IS NOT_ the same people that made the game itself. They are volounteers doing this on their own free time and they are doing a darn fine job too.spumantii wrote:The last time I (overtly respectfully) asked when to expect this (sometime in August) I was confronted with snorts and told something along the lines of 'maybe this game isn't meant for you' when I admitted what most people are thinking which is the reason I bought and wait to play this game was to sim from up-to date NHL rosters.
