Yeah, I didn't really have the chance to play the last time we used the Bruins. Plus the new challenge format will definitely be interesting with this team.

I like Bruins for this, they only have one top prospect in the entire organisation in Pastrnak, no stud goalie but still quite a bit of youth to build on.

I've never played with the attributes hidden before. This is really going to change things! I'm just thankful that we can still see the non-player staff attributes. We need to know how good our scouts are to be able to trust them!

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion
This will be my first try on a challenge.
Short Question: Do we have to trade/cut every player int the organisation who is over 29(or in later years the new cut age) or only the one in the nhl roster and the others are just not allowed to play in the nhl? It's not a problem in the first year but in later years there will be players in the organisation who are over the age but not in the nhl.

Read the paragraph before the list, there you will se Kelly, Talbot and Gustavsson. They can't be resigned, their contracts will run out July 1st.

You're only forced to trade or cut those veteran aged players before that first season. Moving on from there, you'll have the option to keep or trade your veteran aged players.

Ah okay sorry for the stupid question in this case.
And I don't think I would wan't to keep this veteran players, who aren't good enough for the nhl, anyway. They only takeaway rosterspots who could be used by younger players who may have a future in the nhl.

There's no stupid questions. It's always better to ask and get a clear answer if you're not sure.winti26 wrote:Ah okay sorry for the stupid question in this case.

Yup. This save should pick up the day after the loss or something like that. The B's squeaked into the playoffs and got eliminated in the first round.
I tell you what, it's kind of scary evaluating talent with hidden attributes.

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion
Harder to find great deals this time it feels like, we have less assets to trade, i like it
Edit: So i went with another strategy this time because of it, only got one draft pick back, tried my best to get players that can help now instead.
Edit2: Done with the trades now, i'm much happier with them then i thought i would be when i started looking for trades.

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion
I'm trading for players based on their scouting reports and what I may remember of them from last year's DB. There's a very good chance I'm going to get burned on some deals.
I'm really trying to find some value for Krejci, Bergeron, Eriksson, and Rask. It's tough. Team's want to give me lots of junk for them instead of a player of real value.

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion
Yeah i had the same, in the end i just went for players that i know, i played some with Rangers yesterday so made a bigger deal with them. Then i made two trades for "big" name players, made one gamble though, traded for Mrazek, think he's good but have no clue how he is in this db
On to the draft where i have picks #15, #20 and #26.
Edit: A crazy thing happened in my game, Arizona won the lottery with both their lottery picks (Rangers missed playoffs) so they got both Chychryn and Matthews

Forgive someone who hasn't played the game in forever, but I cannot find my saved game folder
EDIT: And just as I wrote that I found it!
