Fun to see the 3 on 3 now in OT.
Bob Hartley deciding to go with Backland/Engelland/Smit seemed beyond odd then he shuffled it up for the remainder with Giordano/Brodie and ....JOORIS. Alrighty then Boab!

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Ehlers was around 40 points in 15/16 season in most of my sim-tests. I think that's reasonable for him.South-Side wrote:Now with the new database i will have to start over, at least i gained an year, the other game started in 2014. I took a look at the team and the new players , it will be hard work to revamp the roster again. Sadly even the 8.0a Ehlers doesn't look anything like the improved 7.4c Ehlers i was going to play in 2015![]()
Anyone else started with the Jets with the new database ? Any insights ?
Sorry for the long post, i was just looking to get a season at least under the belt to be able to share some warranted opinions about the game. Curious how the new db will change the game.
You shouldn't compare so much 7.x rosters with 8.x. A lot have changed. And this is the first rosters to be made for EHM:EA.

I will have to see tonight, i've spent yesterday looking over all the other rosters and free players. Beeing an avid FM player for almost 15 years i usually do not hit continue until i've looked over all other teams in the league and AHL and sent scouts to look at a lot of players to check for future trades. Also decent staff needs to be added so a lot of work befor playing the first games.jhcjobpb wrote: You shouldn't compare so much 7.x rosters with 8.x. A lot have changed. But compared to the team in the other database this is going to be a challenge, roster's a lot weaker. I'm still curious as i said in the previous post if anyone started a Jets game with the new db.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Playing as the Habs right now in the real early stages of pre-season. I really wanted to bring Tinordi up but realized he'd be snatched if I sent him back down. Goal is to not make trades and ride out with the roster as well as developing and building through the draft with 1 UFA signing. Great core with Price, Patches, Subban, Gallagher, and Galch....

Stanley Cup winners
Kessel was out for 6 months, Sprong jumped in very well. Crosby failed to score points in the last 7 games, ending up with 95 points in regular season. Ovi scored a last second goal in game 82 to finish with 96.

FLORIDA PANTHERS 2015/16
Huberdeau - Barkov - Jagr
Smith - Bjugstad - Grimaldi
Pirri - Bolland/Jokinen - Trocheck
Howden - MacKenzie/Glendening - Thornton/Brickley
Campbell - Ekblad
Kulikov - Gudbranson
Mitchell/Petrovic - Kampfer/Petrovic
Luongo/Montoya
Others: Pokka (D - 4GP), Matheson (D - 2GP), Harper (RW - 2GP), McFarland (C - 1GP)
Reached the playoffs (4th in East with 102p) but got swept by Detroit.
My bottom 6 went missing and my top 6 wasn't enough to get us anywhere in the end. Traded in Glendening at the deadline and he was superb for about 10 games or so before he and most of my bottom 6 started to play badly. Have no idea what happened.
Player stats for the season:
Huberdeau - Barkov - Jagr
Smith - Bjugstad - Grimaldi

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Not that anyone is aware of the UK leagues, but quite enjoying my first save with Milton Keynes Lightning. All the players seem to be a bit more individual (perhaps thats the player-roles) and I'm just enjoying juggling the lines and enjoying the up-to-date roster.
I coach all the games and have managed the odd comeback win leaving training to my head-coach at the moment, finding that there are no easy games with this data (apart from Hull that is, and even they have been stubborn to break down).
Mainly using:
Luomala/Tahtinen/Chamberlain
Hook/Emersic/Cownie
Jarolin/Carr/Watkins
(all on 'Equal' minutes)
Johnson/McPherson/Billing
(given ice-time if we are ahead)
Griffin/Christie
Farn/Clements
Knaggs/Jaimeson
Green/
Though sometimes put out an all 'import' line of Jarolin/Tahtinen/Luomala if we're chasing a game.
Going to try to develop Glenn Billing as he's caught my imagination scoring in a few games of late.

Talk about unrealistic...
I took over the OHL's Flint Firebirds, and decided to make a coaching change...but all my players quit!
Like THAT would ever happen in real life!!!

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Started my first proper save as the Anaheim Ducks. Currently 36 games into the season and I lead the NHL.
Released Tim Jackman and Joe Piskula. Acquired Luke Glendening (who has been a little disappointing but I'll give him time) and a 5th round pick in 2016 for Korbinian Holzer.
I have the top-two point scorers in the NHL, Carl Hagelin on 51 (36 games, 25 goals, 26 assists) and Corey Perry on 45 (35 games, 23 goals, 22 assists).
We've scored 23 goals more than any other team (132 total) in the league although we have conceded 93 goals (the most of anyone in the top twelve teams).
Really enjoying it so far, glad to have finally found the time to proper get into the game.

Started a new game, started with SKA in the KHL, but retired in January. Added a new GM and took over the Oilers. Lifted them from 9th to 3rd and ended up losing the Stanley Cup final to the Pens:
edit: well, I started this post 0-3 down, but we made a big comeback.

Lost the final in the 2nd season, Rangers took the Cup. I dropped from 1st to 5th in the last 20 games, but the play-offs went smoothly. All series in 5 games, including the final.

I pick what I like to do, and leave the rest for the Assistant or the coach. I do the GM stuff, and a bit of the coach stuff too. I like to pick my own lines and tactics, but leave the practice to the coach, and pre-season exhibitions to the assistant.andy_snek wrote:hi guys, just wonder, are you coaching the team or are you just GM?

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Oof, back to the drawing board. 3rd season with Panthers, playoff hockey with...91p!
And obviously we got swept by the Bruins.
Last season we actually missed the playoffs after loosing in the 81st round, with 96p on the season. We started the season very strong but my entire team forgot how to play defense aparently, need to look over what is happening. Ofcourse loosing Ekblad to injury just ahead of the playoffs did not help. Let in 271 goals this season, only topped by Red Wings (last placed) with 273. If not our offense we would be in the bottom now.
Huberdeau - Barkov - Smith
Pirri/Crouse - Bjugstad - Grimaldi
Raffl/Helm - Kruger - Trocheck/Raffl
Helm/Condra - Bolland - Lewis/Shaw
Kulikov - Ekblad
Matheson/Pokka - Campbell/Gudbranson
Jokipakka - Gudranson/Manson/Petrovic
Luongo/Montoya

Season 29-30 I had 18 OT games of which 15 went to shootout... Playing in Liiga and old save so no 3 on 3 OT

Second year in Winnipeg. Lost in the Stanley Cup final to Tampa Bay.

Still missing a number one goalie. Got some crucial injuries in the last round to Ladd and Scheifele. It kind of fell apart from there.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Won the Stanley Cup in my third season. Struggled until the finals, injuries again to my top players (Wheeler,Scheifele), weak production from goalies during the first half of the season. But the offense carried me for the most part of the season until the team started to play as a whole.
Added the last piece of the puzzle in goal, which in my opinion got me the Cup: Jake Allen. With Raanta behind him I managed to win it finally.
The paradox was that until the finals i struggled in each series and edged the opponents 4-3 in the end. But in the Cup series i swept the Capitals 4-0 !
Onto the next season and hopefully creating a dynasty. Will be back with screenshots if anyone is interested.
@madball1982 - what were your key transactions in securing the cup ?
Added the last piece of the puzzle in goal, which in my opinion got me the Cup: Jake Allen. With Raanta behind him I managed to win it finally.
The paradox was that until the finals i struggled in each series and edged the opponents 4-3 in the end. But in the Cup series i swept the Capitals 4-0 !
Onto the next season and hopefully creating a dynasty. Will be back with screenshots if anyone is interested.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
So 2018/19 finally marked a good season for the Panthers! Despite a slow start to the season we fought our way into the President's Trophy race, but a horrible April with ju 1 win saw us loose it to Tampa Bay. Funny, we beat them in that lone win in April 6-2 but it was too little too late to catch them at that time. In the playoffs we played:
4-2 Toronto
4-3 Carolina
4-2 Islanders
1-4 Colorado (2nd worst team, points wise, to enter the playoffs with just 89p.)
Didn't help to have injuries and suspensions disrupt our playoff run + the 3rd D-pairing lost the plot all of a sudden. Positives this year were Crouse, Matheson and especially Keller that came in strong during pre-season. And obviously our 1st line were super great.

So I just won the cup in 2019, Jack Eichel won the Calder for me after letting him develop for a few years with 82 points
however, to start the season Adam Oates doesnt want him in the line up... every single game in the preseason and so far into the season I press "Coach Auto Lines" whatever, and Jack Eichel is repeatedly scratched. He played 2 games in the preseason and if there wernt injuries before my first regular season game he would have been scratched for that game too. He has perfect condition, and he's one of my 3 star players. I checked coach reports and they say the same thing; He's a key player. I check the trainer reports, they say the same thing; He's in perfect health
What the hell oates?

Season two with Calgary - I'm sitting at 2nd in the Western Conference again.
