All players aged 29 or older must be traded or released before July 1st. Player's age is as of July 1st. i.e. Kevan Miller. He will be 29 on November 11th. He does NOT have to be traded. If his birthday had been on July 1st, he would've been considered 29.
You're also not allowed to make waiver claims. You won't be able to make any more moves in this first season. Play it out and develop your young players.
You traded Marchand on June 21st, 2016. The first season hasn't even started yet.

English is not my mother tongue, but 'each season' means the first season as well, if you ask me. It's says not 'from season 2 you may trade...'
Well, I'll wait for challenge 40, I got a 4th pick too many for Bergeron and I'm not starting over again

That sentence comes in after the "Season 2 and on" headline. Sorry to hear ur skipping this now, was just trying to help you out.
Edit: That headline is a bit hidden though, maybe you can bold and/or underline it b72?

Don't trade anyone under 29 and make sure there is not more then 3 pieces going either way in a trade and you should be fine
Also no rights.

Just played game #82, ended up 9th in the conference, wasn't that close to playoffs though, had 9 points up. Had a few losing streaks that ruined my playoff chances, overall i'm quite happy with the season though i must say, with some better goaltending next season (hopefully) i will be in playoffs.

Bruins are on 12nd place and have 5 points to 8th place. Overall, I'm slightly dissapointed because we have Auston Matthews who leads in points in NHL and Tyler Toffoli is second with 51 points. Matthews has got 57 points (18+39, I really love him already, he is our captain from september anyway)!!! But we are on 12th place...
](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)
Our big problem is Brad Marchand last two months. He had +8 and now he had -13. What the Dickens?!! So, I decided that I'm going to change my lines for 45th game. Due him I will divide Matthews from Toffoli.

• Tyler Toffoli -> 6 years - 5M p/y
• Brad Marchand -> 3 years - 4.5M p/y
• David Pastrňák -> 3 years - 3M p/y
• Alexander Khokhlachev -> 2 years - 2.5M p/y
• Joonas Kemppainen -> 3 years - 1.6M p/y
• Tommy Cross -> 2 years - 1.45M p/y
• Malcolm Subban -> 2 years - 1.3M p/y
• Seth Griffith -> 2 years - 1M p/y

Anyway I'm very, very happy with my seven prospects:
Zach Senyshyn - 39 GPs | 31+28 | 59 PTS | +22
Jake Bean (D-man | 15th ovr pick in 2016) - 39 GPs | 6+26 | 32 PTS | +5
Jake DeBrusk - 25 GPs | 17+23 | 40 PTS | +7
Zach Sawchenko (Goalie | 75th ovr pick in 2016) - 41 GPs | 30W | 0.932%
Alexander Leandersson (D-man | 53rd ovr pick in 2016) - 21 GPs | 4+16 | 20 PTS | +4
Logan Brown (Center | 20th ovr pick in 2016) - 39 GPs | 22+21 | 43 PTS | +3
Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson - 34 GPs | 19+21 | 40 PTS | +1
I really hope that Brown or Karlsson will be my 2nd center in one year or two years. I need it. And I think that Senyshyn will be ready for NHL in next season, so here is problem. I will have three right wingers to TOP6 (Toffoli, Pastrňák, Senyshyn), maybe trade one of them?

I'll reword and bold that bit about trading one player under the veteran age. It's definitely meant to be season 2 on, as it's under the season 2 and on heading. Still, I'll try to make it more clear.
Yorke, you made some nice trades there. I wanted Larkin. You weren't afraid to package a bunch of big assets to get what you wanted. I think that was smart. I tried too hard to get lots of assets in return instead of just a few at high quality.

I'm not sure what the stats recorder thing is. I will send Archi a PM and see if he can look at it. For now, mark down your numbers somewhere so you can enter it once it's fixed.

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion
82 games done. Season 1 is in the books.
Lowest points of the season has to be 16 straight games without a win and the worst power play I have personally ever had with the EHM series.
Some things I've noticed:
My goaltending sucks. Both Subban and Husso are too young and not ready. Can I fix this issue during the off season, probably not. I can't sign anyone and I don't really see a team giving up a solid young goal tender, but who knows. I have a lot of the same type of players, so maybe I can get rid of one of them.
Realistically I have two top-6 forwards. Skinner and Pastrnak. I lost Pastrnak for the majority of the season with a broken leg, which really hurt. The next two that come close are Marchand and Spooner. Spooner is almost there, but Marchand is nothing more than a 3rd liner. I might be able to use him to get my goal tender.
I have no top pairing on D. My top pairing was Krug and Gudbransson. Krug, IMHO, would be more suited as a 5th or 6th D. Gudbransson should be on my second pairing, but after Joe Morrow and Kevin Miller, the rest of them should be in the AHL. Nurse played well whenever he came up and I expect him to challenge for a spot next season.
So I need a goalie, at least two more top-6 forwards (I'm hoping either Dal Colle, Fabbri, or Ho-Sang can step into this role), and a top 2 dman.
I got some guys that I can deal, but I don't want to make the same mistake that I've made in past Challenges and that's go completely towards a youth movement. I think that right now, my best veteran asset to trade is either Marchand or Beleskey. Both, to me anyways, are 3rd liners, and both can have their spot filled by either one another or Michael Ferland.

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion
I made my first trade pre 2017 draft, sent (underage) Tommy Cross to St. Louis Blues for Carl Grundström, i lack depth on the wings and Grundström was a beast on the earlier db and he had a solid rookie year in AHL with 39+25 and 7.34 Av R. I gave Cross a legit chance to take a spot in the lineup but he was underwhelming, 6.60 Av R and -13 in 40 games so i'll just take a good future asset for him now.
I'm also looking to trade Irwin and Kemppainen before the draft but so far i've not been able to get a deal, trying to get as high of a draft pick as i possibly can, struck out on getting a first rounder (not surprising). Both players had a fair shot but neither played well. Irwin wasn't terrible but i have plenty of young guys coming up at LD (Skjei and Zboril first and foremost) so he's just not needed.
Edit: Just traded Irwin for Kylington, best deal i could find, Kylington has 2 good season in AHL behind him. Sticking to the guys that were beasts in the last db even though they are probably reworked for this one
I did not win the lottery which is a shame, had my eyes on Elias Pettersson who is from Timrå which is only 25 minutes from where i live.
Also manager to find a trade partner for Kemppainen, sent him to Hurricanes in exchange for power forward Adrian Kempe who came from a solid rookie season in NHL with 9+10, 30 PIM, 117 hits and 6.98 Av R in only 10 min ice time per game, he will fight for a spot in our opening day roster.

Grundstrom was actually on my draft list, but got taken before I could grab him.
That's the problem, and maybe a good thing, the Bruins have a lot of the same type of players. I am going to have get rid of Irwin and at least one other dman, preferably from the starting lineup. I have Rasmus Andersson coming (I doubt he'll see any time in the AHL) and Jakub Zboril.
Decisions decisions.

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion
I actually wanted picks for Irwin, Kemppainen and Cross, but almost every team stated that it would upset their roster, so i made these 1 for 1 trades instead. Overall i'm happy with the trades, a bit funny that i only got Swedes but i guess it's in the genes
Now it's time for the draft, then i'll take a break for now
Draft time, my first pick was at #13, i had my eyes on Adam Thilander who was ranked #16, sadly for me he got picked as #7 so i had to scratch those plans. The players i decided between where, 6th ranked Patrick Khodorenko or #11 Louis-Filip Côté. I decided to go with the Power Forward C instead of the goal-scoring winger. So with my pick at #13 i picked Patrick Khodorenko, my scouts has him at 5 stars and compare him to David Backes and (a more talented) Patrik Berglund. At #43 i went with Offensive D-man Ryan Stephens, after that i just listened to my scouts completely and got the following guys, at #103 Gord Francone, at #133 Aslan Volkov, at #163 Lukas Nikkilä and finally at #193 Samuel Laberge.

I haven't gotten to the draft. Still trying to create my draft list. One player that one of my scouts recommended, and I'm actually considering drafting him if possible based on his name alone...Hercules Schultz from Lund Sweden.

Re: Challenge 39 Rebuilding the Bruins - Discussion

After 1st season
Bruins ended on 14th place. Last 30 games were very, very bad including 14 losses in a row.
But there is some postivies. For example Auston Matthews. He is SuperB player in the league already, he won Art Ross Trophy with 101 points in his first season! Tyler Toffoli was second with the 97 points! Jakub Zboril had 52 points in his first season. Joe Morrow had over 50 points too.
But my deffense was bad last season, so I decided that I just want acquire some new D-man who can play about 22-25mins every night.

Tyler Toffoli was choosen to first all-star team and Auston Matthews was choosen to second all-star team and all-star rookie team.
