Re: Official Pre Game Editor Thread. All questions here plea

A couple quick questions about creating players, I don't know if they have been clarified in this forum so I apologize if they were, I like to create a lot of players, and the last round I did for time sake I just assigned a potential mostly -7 -8 and -9 so they would develop into NHL level talent assigned a position by rating them a 20 at one and then assigned them a CHL or High school team to avoid the retirement issue. I left everything else blank because I'm under the impression the game assigns random amounts for everything. Quick and easy to add a bunch of players, is there any attributes that I should add for my next batch that are essential for their development that shouldn't be left random? Also does anyone know how young I can make a player? I know they won't appear until age 13 but could i potentially create a player born in 2015 who would appear 13 years in? Any tips would be much appreciated!

Based on what I've seen, putting in a (I guess you would call it) underage player actually puts them in the game, they just seem to be invisible until they hit 13. They otherwise accumulate stats. Dunno if the game does anything else with them (injuries, moving to teams, consider them present on the roster, etc., maybe even early retirement). Beyond that I don't know.

I have the same problem, when I open the editor as it's the only way to run as administrator. I have tried right clicking on a .dat file and then clicking open with editor but then everything that I change does not actually save even though it tells me that it does.

Thanks in advance.
I assume you're trying to load the EHM 2007 .dat files and not the EHM 1 .db file? Can you post a screenshot showing how you're trying to open the database?

Put your database files in a temporary folder on your desktop or My Documents folder. Load the Pre-Game Editor (use run as admin) and load the database file (it'll be the folder you just put your files in). Once finished, move your files back to your EHM database folder and reimport.

Got a strange error message. Whenever I want to save a player it tells me: xyz is not a valid date.

I tried various date formats but nothing seems to work. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I have never had a problem before today, but I am now getting this same error message. Also, it doesn't let you put in the last number in the year, for example: 22-Feb-1980, it won't let me put in the zero at the end.

It's because the date format is 22/02/1980 and not 22-Feb-1980.

Yeah, that is what I thought, but when you open the editor, everyone has the date format, that I posted. When you try and and change it to the other format, it also brings up an error message. I am using Windows 10, running as admin, and up until the other day, had no problems at all. I didn't change anything, about the way I was using the editor.

Very weird, I remembered that I changed my date and time settings on my computer a few weeks ago, and took a shot, that, that, was the reason. Now the editor works again, with the dates back in the format I remembered, and you mentioned. Strange! ](*,)

Hey guys. Every time I try to open the editor and open a database, the second I get to the databases folder, my computer crashes. I am running it in administrator. Why is this happening?

Perhaps the DB is corrupt.

I take it you are trying to load an EHM 2007 database.

Hey Archi, is there anyway to set an arena transfer, where the new arena is owned by the team and not rented? I am setting up a 15-16 DB, so the Wings are playing their final season at The Joe (owned), and the transfer works correctly, and changes to Little Caesars Arena, but is listed as rented. Any way to change to owned?

I believe that the last line of the "ARENA_MOVE" line in extra_config needs to be a 1 rather than a 0 to indicate this, but I'm not 100%.

Hi guys, I've got little question. I was trying to do "rebuilt 2011 db" based on database released by wonderful TBL crew few years ago with updated and adjusted attributes and CA/PA's. New editor which Archi is working on seems to not work properly with databases created to 2007 (there are some errors during loading db), so I've decided to use pre-game editor and import database after making some works. But it seems like game isn't responding to changes which I've made. For example I adjusted Holtby's attributes to "AHL level" but in game after importing db it was still untouched. I've tried to load re-edited database on another computer, but it looked like everything would be hardcoded :dunno: Has anyone seen something like that?

I can upload some screens if someone has any ideas how to solve that. I would appreciate any help :)

Assuming you clicked Confirm after your edits (bottom right) and saved after your edits, then the "Run as Administrator" issue may be the problem.....when opening up the Editor right click and "Run as administrator" to ensure your edits are saved

FYI - the PreGame Editor automatically deletes the Player Role of any player edited; for that reason I don't use the Pregame Editor for player editing (I use the EHM Updater http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 10&t=11154)

My Editor is designed for EHM 1 databases only which is why you'll get errors with EHM 2007 databases. That said, there will be experimental support for EHM 2005 and EHM 2007 databases in the next release (no ETA right now).

Thank you for your replies :) Unfortunatelly "run as administrator" didn't help, but I'll try to solve that problem by using EHM Updater. I'm glad to hear about experimental support for databases from older EHM's, I'll keep fingers crossed for that :)

I have searched on here for the answer, but can't seem to find it. I know from the past, that the AHL 27 team is hardcoded in the editor. But now that EHM has 30 teams, I don't know how to update or change teams affiliations with the pre-game editor. Any help?

There is a part of the pre-game editor that is called "affiliations"
In there you can look at the parent team.
There is no way to delete affiliations so I use the extinct team Ajax Attack as "dumpster bin"

But how do you get all 30 NHL teams with AHL affiliates, in the pre game editor?

If you are using a modern db then they all have affiliates. The EHM07 version of the db does not have all 30 teams in the league, but it is the game that decides what teams will play in the AHL not the db (unless you force it to)
