Play-by-Play commentary speed

Post by noctambulist »

I know it's probably something incredibly simple that I missed, but is there a way to slow down the rate at which the play-by-play commentary flashes in the bar in EHM07 during the games? My speed reading is getting a good work-out which is a plus, but sometimes I'd like to know who scored the goal or got the penalty without stopping the action.

In the bottom left hand corner click on Highlights speed i think it is. then change that to slower or which ever setting you prefer.

In my game under Highlights it only has "Entire Game, Extended Highlights, Key Incidents, None at All". This only seems to affect what I see during the 2D game. There is Clock Speed, and Action Speed, but neither of those affect the rate at which the play-by-play flashes and goes away. I need the commentary to remain on the screen a bit longer before it flashes back to "Boston Arena, Boston" for example. The Clock Speed just seems to change how fast the clock ticks down, and the Action Speed makes the players zip around faster or slower with no affect on the commentary.

This certainly isn't a game breaker, just a minor annoyance.

It's the 'Action Speed' setting that will slow it down for you, but it depends on what setting you are using. If you're just changing for 'Very Fast' to 'Fast' the commentary will still zip by because the game action is happening that fast... You'd notice the change from Fast to Normal though as it would slow things down enough for the commentary to not flip to the next bit of action so quickly.

Since it's tied to when then game engine creates the action that's the only way to slow it down is to slow down the action. Otherwise the commentary would be behind the on ice movements.

I follow the logic there, but there are still times, for example, when a penalty occurs that the penalty info flashes on the bar and disappears before I can read it only to be replaced by the arena name. It seems to me that the commentary should stay on the screen until a new bit of action happens. I can understand when the puck is being passed around and shots being taken that a "Fast" Action speed it would go by quickly. But when the action isn't happening quickly, it shouldn't go back to the arena name.

Oh well, I can deal.
