EIHL Dual Nationals

Post by Garethw87 »

Ok, I know I'm being stupid but what is the rule regarding Dual Nats in the EIHL? I signed Andy Bathgate to the Storm and he is CAN/ENG but he was still classed as an import. However I remember scouting one of the Dual Nats Brendan Perlini, and it said 'because he has UK passport he won't count towards the limit.

The game uses a very simplified model of the import rule (in a similar way to FHM) whereby it is the player's primary nationality which determines whether or not he is an import. A British primary nationality means he isn't an import whereas a British secondary nationality means he will be an import.

It sounds like the scout report regarding Perlini is a bug (presumably because it doesn't take into account primary nationality only). Perlini is (rightly) an import in game.

I noticed that some players becomes dual nats after some time. In my save some canadian playing for croatian club HK Sisak got croatian flag after several seasons and played for Croatia. Only thing that bugs me is foregin flags at NT screen. If player changed his "IIHF" nationality, then his primary flag should be of country he represents. Hopefully riz will solve it ;)

Thanks archi! Now I can start again and not make this mistake

I will re-scout Perlini and see if it was him that it said this about.

I remember this from 07. I remember Austria being notorious. If a player ever left for 1 day and then you resigned him he'd have to start his 'time in Austria' over again to get his second nationality. Something like this.
