I'm pleased to announce the start of a new TBL challenge! This time we're taking a New York Rangers team that consists of all players and staff that were born in the USA.
I'd like to thank all of the people that work on the TBL rosters. The saved game we'll be using is based on TBL Rosters 8.1 and then modified. Special thanks to Manimal for making those roster modifications for this challenge and also coming up with all of the US born staff!
Here is how this challenge will work. First, you'll need to download the save file HERE. Once you've downloaded that saved game and placed it in your games folder (usually something like C:\Users\<your_name>\Documents\Sports Interactive\EHM\Game ), go ahead and launch EHM, and load that saved game (NYR Challenge 40). You'll come to a screen with a GM called TBL Challenge and he'll be unemployed. Retire that GM and add yourself, taking control of the NY Rangers. You may also add a second GM and manage your AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.
I'm going to suggest that you go into the game's preferences and check "Disable Human Manager Sackings". You're probably going to anger your board. Also, while you're there, make sure that "Saved Compressed" is not checked. We've seen corrupted saved in the past due to the compression.
The rules are pretty simple this time around.
1. No UFA signings EVER. Nor may you attempt to sign another team's RFA to an offer sheet.
2. No trades in season 1.
3. Once trades are allowed starting in season 2, you must follow these guidelines...
a. Trades may not have more than 2 assets coming in and no more than 2 assets going out. i.e. player for pick is okay, 2 players for 1 pick is okay, 2 picks for 2 players is okay, and so on.
b. You may not trade your unsigned prospects and you may not acquire unsigned prospects from another team. The AI is a bit skewed on trade values for unsigned prospects. Only contracted players and draft picks may be used in trades.
c. You are allowed to trade at any time the NHL allows you, including during the draft. You're allowed to use draft picks and contracted players to move up or down in the draft.
d. You are only allowed to trade for players with "American" as their primary nationality. (updated)
e. You may only trade draft picks for the current draft. No future picks may be dealt. (updated)
4. You may only draft U.S. born players!
5. You can hire and fire non-playing staff at any time but incoming staff members must be U.S. born as well.
6. Your team's Averaged Club Salary may not be more than $65M.
7. No waivers claims allowed! (UPDATED)
That should about cover the rules.
As usual, you need to upload your stats every quarter (on the menu bar it's TBL Challenge and then Upload Your Stats). You'll also need to post your yearly screenshots HERE. In addition to the normal required screenshots, you'll also need to post a screenshot of your Finances to show that you're keeping within budget.
